Re: Relocation: Phil Down Under

I think the woman was born in Ireland (her name was Bronagh after all..) but she obviously grew up in England (Essex). That's my bet anyway.

I enjoyed the show, but I had to laugh at the bit in...

Re: FIFA World Cup 2010

My plan is the best - go back to England for a holiday so I can watch the matches in the right bleedin time zone with a beer or two!

Re: Smithy at sports personality of the year

That reminds me of watching Borat. I'm hiding behind my hands watching it, cringing, wondering what he's gonna say next.

Re: 2010 A league Grand Final

Yeah, I suppose so - all of that is true. He's just a snarling, whinging, nasty bugger on the field.

So, do you think Sydney deserved it?

Re: Cornwall or Melbourne :)

Spot on. Everyday life isn't that pleasant when you are permanently covered in sweat. On the beach, or in the pool/sea - yes.

Cornwall for me. The most beautiful part of England.

Re: Real Football..... Australian Style..

It would also be nice to have some kind of FA Cup type comp, featuring the likes of Marconi, Sydney United, Melbourne Knights etc etc. Then, maybe this Grand Final nonsense could be done away with?...

Re: Joing the ranks of the summer Cider drinkers

Totally agree. I've struggled to find many decent Sydney pubs with atmosphere, but I quite like The Courthouse in Newtown and The Cricketers up in Surry Hills. Any others I should know about?

Re: Joing the ranks of the summer Cider drinkers

I'm with you on that - Bristol is a top place. I lived there for 2 years a while back and found several superb cider houses with real cider and real characters inside!

Re: Real Football..... Australian Style..

It's got to be Sydney to win tomorrow! The 'toilet seat' will be 'ours'!

Winning in Melbourne would make up for the 5-0 loss a few seasons back, as well as equalling the number of championships...
