I think you will be fine to teach in oz after completion of the P.G.C.E. The NQT year is only required in the UK to teach in state schools. You can teach anywhere else without completing the NQT...

I'm not sure about recognising NVQ's but check out Early Childhood Australia. They assess overseas qualifications for migrants.

I appplied 7th Jan for pre-primary teacher and I'm so relieved it has been successful.

I have positive skills assessment from Teaching Australia for Pre Primary and Primary Teacher. I have already applied for a family sponsored 176 visa and hope a state sponsorship will speed it up.
