at least in NSW, it is a joke. there are no 'surveys'. any info you give the state department is voluntary.

yes it does mean they received a case officer. others on the forum have stated it and mine indicated that the same day i received an email from my case officer.

thanks for the update highkite. But for what visa have you applied? 176 or 175? the info MOC gives out seems to be different for these subclasses.

you are right, you will not gain sponsorship from VIC if your occupation is not on their list. i hope you didn't have to pay a fee for that state sponsorship application.
