Re: September 08 Applicants
Been following this thread, thought i'd join in too and introduce myself
Lead Applicant: Me (Analyst Programmer 2231-17 NON CSL/MODL) plus OH (Building Surveyor 3121-17) and 2 little uns.
Applied GSM 175 online (no agent) on 13th September 08 with a score of 125.
Have chanced my arm and applied to Victoria for State Sponsorship on 1st April 09 (off-list application), but pretty sure I know what their answer will be My occupation was removed from their list in March. Grasping at straws, I know.... but i'm cheeky enough to ask!
Good luck to all

you are right, you will not gain sponsorship from VIC if your occupation is not on their list. i hope you didn't have to pay a fee for that state sponsorship application.
i emailed them about off list sponsorship back in Jan when the new processing priorities came out. those guidelines indicated states could make up to something like 500 off list nominations. i'd already been nominated by NSW, but would prefer VIC. they replied saying they would not be making any off list nominations.

Thanks for the info that you got from VIC, so now I know for sure what their answer will be - no need to wait for their email! I'm pretty sure i've exhausted all possibilities - just need to sit it out I guess. It needs to be VIC for us, we've got friends there waiting for us, rental accommodation sorted, the lot. The only state who's list we are on is ACT, but as it needs to be VIC, looks like we'll just need to wait it out here. Before submitting the 175 we tried to get OH sponsored on ENS 121, but no luck there.
I wasn't clear with the VIC state sponsored if you needed to have an occupation on their list AND a job offer, or if you only needed to have one or the other.......

Re: September 08 Applicants
I was allocated a case officer on 6th April. They requested my pcc within 28 days. ( unfortunatley the ones I downloaded in jan were unreadable for them). I downloaded them again and telephoned the office to confirm they had received them that same night! Do you think I will have to wait the whole 28 days for the case officer to look at my appliacation again as it is now a fortnight since I sent them. everything else is met on the checklist. So frustrating that I didnt download them correctly the first time.!! This waiting is driving me mad!!
