Norway shootings thread

Re: Norway shootings thread
Fox News channel commentator/pundit Glenn Beck calls the Norway Youth camp in Utøya Hitler Youth.
Glenn Beck is most vile of right wing pundits in America but he has tremendous support amongst the Tea Party Christian Conservative Zionist right.

I quite like the Norwegian commentator who calls him a fascist and a vulgar propagandist who is trying to outdo Joseph Goebbels (Hitler's Minister of Propaganda).

No wonder most Americans are completely clueless to what happens in the real world when the so-called political commentators (who end up shaping the opinions of the man in the street) are so completely and utterly idiotic.

A Norwegian friend posted this on facebook, thought it was worth sharing.
"A german newspaper article says: "Even in their deepest sorrow the norwegians don't get hysterical. They resist the hate. It is amazing to see how politicians and the whole country reacts. They are sad to the deepest thread of their souls. They cry in dignity. But nobody swears to take revenge. Instead they want even more humanity and democracy. That is one of the most remarkable strengths of that little country."

I am a libertarian but wouldn't mind seeing him off the air - because of him most people think the Right is full of Christians who hate abortion and want to bring prayer in to school...idiot.

Correct, there's a lot in there from people who do not condone what this man has done at all...of course the media, and especially those on the left will start finger pointing at anyone with anti-multicultural sentiments.
I think what's needed now is to study objectively what he's done and what he has to say. We need to find out if he has a point or not, and if so what needs to be done to stop like-minded people from going down the path he did.
Personally I feel he is alienated by the fact that the Right in Europe has become increasingly moderate and mainstream, like the far left did in the 60s and 70s before. I think he felt they are no longer extreme enough. One only has to see people like Geert Wilders to know Europe's new right is a huge threat to the socialism and anti-nationalism but at the same time no one is advocating marches, brown shirts or Kristallnachts. This chap probably didn't like that as it didn't fit with his sick bloody mindedness and so took action

Re: Norway shootings thread
Right-wing Israelis find little sympathy for Norway after tragedy
Vita Bekker
TEL AVIV // A few Israelis who shared their feelings on websites are expressing anything but sympathy for the killing of at least 76 mostly young people in Norway.
Postings on Hebrew websites suggest Friday's attacks have reawakened hostility among some Israelis towards what they view as Norway's pro-Palestinian approach to the peace process.
Such sentiments may have also been prompted by the fact that the confessed perpetrator in the attack appears to have espoused anti-Muslim sentiments and a pro-Zionist philosophy.
One person, who identified himself as Yuval, wrote on the popular Ynet news website: "Now they understand what political terrorism is. We should explain to them that the Palestinians are doing this to us for several decades already."
Another reader who called himself Yossi wrote on the same website that "it's no wonder that someone got fed up with the fact that Muslims are filling up the streets in Europe".
Another responder named Erez, who commented on a report stating that some of the campers had called for boycotting Israel just two days before the attack, said he "did not shed one tear over the killings".
He added that the "shooter should sit in jail for what he did … but we should thank him for leaving us with fewer anti-Semitic Israel-haters in the world".
Several analysts said such reactions may be the expression of hostility of extremist Jewish settlers living in the Israeli-occupied West Bank towards Arabs and Muslims.

Glenn Beck is to the Right what George Galloway is the Left - only 50 times worse.

Unless of course you are talking about a libertarian who can cherry pick who he allows to have their own liberty.

99% Muslims have suffered and are still suffering bigotry, when a few nutters out of the 1% decide to tackle the issues differently. And let me remind you that there are more than 1.8 billion Muslims around the world so your woe with regards to “comparisons” is nothing in comparison.

Re: Norway shootings thread
Sigh.
Glenn Beck was kicked off Fox earlier this year.
Somehow what a few people in Israel wrote on blogs or what one extremist commentor in the US said is being used as a representative for the standard viewpoint of an entire country.
Every single one of us on this thread (along with 99.99% of the world's population) agrees that the Norweigan shooter was a psycho. Let's not turn this into an excuse to vent one's agendas on anything. Is dragging up random blogs or a weirdo's comment a valid contribution to a discussion?

Not long ago, a qualified doctor in Glasgow decided to commit a heinous crime because his family was humiliated, raped and butchered in Iraq – we didn’t call him a psycho, to us he was a terrorist and we loathed him and all the Muslims in our communities. At least this time admit that there are ideological groups in Europe who would do anything from killing their own people to butchering the human carcass to serve their ideology.
In my view, we (people and media) are just trying to put a blind eye to all this and are scared to admit that there is an issue across Europe with regards to immigration, multiculturalism and multi-race society. Numerous fascist groups across Europe (some even in government e.g. Holland), 2+ million BNP voters in Britain, EDL supporters and millions of anti-immigration and social Marxism supporters – is that not enough to realise that there is an issue and governments should do an open referendum to either act according to the wish of their people and cut off all global ties and live in their own continent with like minded, colour and cultural folks or show the nazi or culturalist types where they stand i.e. they are a minority and unless they convince more they would have to live with the consequences.
Hope this makes sense!
