You know your in the UK when .....

when most folks live in flats or houses that are either row houses or semi-detached all on little postage stamp plots. House renters having to pay council tax - not the owners who rent their property out
That the sound on your neighbours telly is louder than yours when you have yours turned up full blast & you can hear all of their screaming & shouting as well as the smells of what the neighbours are having for dinner.

From your first link:
Outrage at migrants selling the Big Issue to beat benefits ban
MIGRANT scroungers are bypassing a benefits ban and collecting thousands of pounds in handouts by selling charity magazines to exploit a legal loophole.

Romanians and Bulgarians... backdoor assault on Britain’s soft-touch welfare state provoked outrage...scam...hitting hard-working Âtaxpayers in the pocket...ordinary families...hard-earned cash...hitting hard-working taxpayers in the pocket...About 40 per cent of sellers in the North are believed to be Romanian gypsies... gateway to benefits dependency...
Mr Codrianu, who does not speak English, and his wife now also sell the magazine. Mr Codrianu has applied for benefits such as working tax credit.
Fay Selvan, owner of Big Issue in the North, denied it encouraged migrants to register as vendors. She said: “We help whoever asks. We don’t discriminate. Any of our vendors are entitled to be self-employed so it is not a loophole, it is the law.â€

This is when you know you are in the UK - a further burden to the taxpayer
Me thinks The Big Issue paper business will be losing revenue

beginning 2014 when the Bulgarians & Romanians have no need to be classified as 'self employed' to get benefits, they can simply continue to collect welfare as well as JSA without working & join the millions of other scroungers in the UK including the home grown ones.

You know you're in the UK when
....... you can laugh at british jokes / humor and your not the only one laughing !
....... you can walk in the countryside and not worry someone is going to attack you
....... you can breath in the cool winter air and it tastes sweet.
....... your spoken to by random people passing you by on the street or anywhere else for that matter.
....... ohhh and not forgetting curry sauce on chips from the chippy.
Need I say more 😋

They just watch this chap.
Every time I pass him I give him $5 for himself. I don't take the BI so he gets the full 5. If it was my last 5 I would still give it to him.
Does that make me a 'hero'? well of course not!! I do it because these people are NOT malingerers 'on benefits'. They are without much support, and with little resource, sometimes battling mental illness, which goes untreated because slimy polishituns have stripped support services.
Hmmmm? I actually think n2o, that you would be wise to stay where YOU are, because it is plainly obvious that the UK does not meet your exacting standards.

That's lovely!.......how DARE you!
Oh boy!! I live in a high 'socio economic' area, not all of us here are in that bracket, so it ameliorates the elitism somewhat. The restaurant belt is 2 minutes from my house. A chap is sometimes to be found there at the mouth of a small shopping mall selling the BI. Just to either side of him are outdoor eating areas of restaurants. Some of those people are recognisable regulars. One of those outlets is expensive.

Sorry, my mistake. You are resident in the UK....?
Not actually looking at them, but seeing the situation with clarity from afar..

Bloody hell, after all that I'm gobsmacked

I've been back for 22 months and have yet to see it. I've been surprised that so many dog owners have plastic bags on their hands picking the stuff up immediately. Also lots of dog poo bins. I didn't see this dedication to clean pavements, nature strips or parks in South Australia.

You must be one of those rare individuals with no bad habits, right?

Funny, it wasn't so long ago that people smoked on buses, in cinemas, in pubs and restaurants, and noone had anything to say about it. Funny that.
