Got it. Thanks.
Another question. Are there TV's that I can somehow connect to my Samsung Tablet so I can watch TV via the tablet as a modem?

Yes any Smart TV should do it for you or even some normal TV's with a Hdmi or Usb connection

The loss of the terrestrial channels is an issue if you have a holiday home you visit in the winter. Having just come back from a short winter break where the rain has hardly let up and it was dark on an evening by 6 pm some quality TV is welcome. There are only so many evenings you want to eat and drink out aren't there? And the BBC OFFERS QUALITY which all the other channels fail to do, especially all the American ones. In the spring, summer and autumn it is not really an issue as most of the time is spent outside and the days are longer. I appreciate that if you live permanently in Portugal you probably have the Internet and there are solutions using sites such as Film On but for those of us who visit 4 or 5 times a year it is expensive to install the internet for just a few weeks a year. I for one would have willingly paid for a second license to keep BBC outside of the UK. We dusted off our old DVD player (which we have never used in Portugal) but could not get that to work. Need to rethink our viewing options!

Hard drive or couple of memory sticks loaded with films or whatever, seems about your only option?!

Started to watch Sky News, never did before, always BBC. Good coverage if you can handle the adverts every 10 mins but an acceptable alternative and will do just fine.

I think if you just want a quick update on the news then Skynews is perfect! Even if it does have more than its fare share of twats presenting/reporting!

Hi All
For what it's worth Mediahint ma be an option. I have just tried it and i was able to get onto HULU in the USA. My only problem was the amount of Adds displayed. But it does work and i was able to login using my Facebook account instead of opening a fresh account.
Because of the adds i won't be back but do give it a go.

Ukkram, Have had some responses from Portuguese nerds.
It appears that MEO/PT may offer ultra hi-speed fibre access in certain areas of the centre of Viana.
It appears that ZON.pt and MEO.pt offer their broadband hispeed ADSL/CABLE products in the area.
It is also likely that vodafone.pt offer their products in the area.
Finally, you should be able to get 4G coverage via Optimus's WOW Mobile Product...

In essence, it appears that the world is your oyster in terms of choice in central Viana.

Ther has been a post on another forum about speeds being reduced on those with 4G due to their download limits being reached after watching TV , Filmon was given as one example.
The user had theirs reduced to 0.12.

Yes, but that is normal if one exceeds one's download limits.
However, for now, at least, it depends on what contract package they have.
