If you can't get filmon try live.camposat.tv - It's more or less the same channels.

If it costs money, I'm not doing it

We've not really missed anything special on the box - we even talk more

Hi Mfesharne

Why can't you get Filmon??? Camposat is in fact Filmon, check out the picture below.

Check the address bar and you will see it's Camposat, then check the open Tab it is Camposat, now check the open Tab and it's Filmon.

Hi Mfesharne

A benefit i can see is if you hover over a TV channel icon then at the bottom of the screen it shows what is on now and what's on next.

Check out the picture below, it shows what was playing , and the next two programs.

So on the face of it this may be a better service as you only get shown the UK channels.

Peter

I can get Filmon but Fuzetajan said he couldn't get it to load so I suggested the other one as an alternative.

I use Filmon on my laptop but use Camposat on my (touch screen) tablet because it loads faster and the bigger icons make it more user friendly for the size of my fingers.

Hi Mfesharne

My point was that Filmon and Camposat are both the same as the first picture shows.

Peter,

I agree but if he can't load the filmon site for some reason, getting it via camposat might possibly be a way of achieving the same thing.

I visit three times a year and internet is not therefore a viable option for me. Trevortronix speaks of a different set top box that will do the trick if used with a different satellite. Anyone know what this new box is and how long will it be before this satellite is also towed away?

The satellite is at 27.5w. Therefore you either need a new dish or realign the one you have now losing the other channels, Sky News CBS etc. that you still receive. The 27.5W UK channels are transmitted on an unusual set of parameters therefore most set top boxes cannot receive them. Also they are scrambled with a BISS system. What is needed as a result is a box that can both receive the unusual signals AND have the facility to unscramble the signals. The box of choice is a Technomate 5402HD (£150approx). Even with this box you need to manually input new BISS keys every time they are changed which can be quite often. Therefore you also need to know where to get a new set of keys, either from your supplier or from the internet. At the moment there is no guarantee that these signals will be continued to be transmitted

One of the more reputable Algarve iinstallers will do this if the client really wants it but it is NOT cheap E400 +, they will not guarantee anything and the cost for a re-code is a min 80euros.
Does it really sound like a practical solution ?

Internet Filmon, although watchable was pretty poor so I took out an HD subscription with them (9€ month). Not sat tv standard but noticably better.
The box also picks up XBMC (whatever that is !) with more channels than I will ever watch.
Seems the way to go in the meantime:
I also got GI FLY box. It has official Filmon plugin, XBMC and also Torrent TV. Besides, you can also use it for Sat TV reception.
