Yes, they extended the railway to here recently . . . in the mid 19th century!

I've certainly been on the railway since I moved here, it is quicker and less tiring than walking hundreds of miles. ;)

I live about 800 yards to the right of the harbour picture shown.

I can recommend the Afon Conwy for lunch, right off the motorway A55 (at Llandudno Junction) before you head into the tunnel under Conwy, we've been there for Sunday dinner a couple of times and loved it. Its Brewers Faire and a Premier Inn next to it.

Or Fish and Chips at the Archway in Conwy it's right next to the castle wall and the arch that the old road goes through

Unfortunately not, I am on the side of a hill but the twists in the hilly terrain get in the way. However it takes just minutes to walk downhill to the harbour.

Here is another nearby view of Torquay's coastine. Imagine waking up to this in the morning. http://www.johncouch.co.uk/i/brochures/355_brochure.pdf

What a gorgeous view, although I don't care for the modern apartment in the photo. Much prefer English or Scottish homes with some period charm ;) I think I have been watching too much Escape to the Country :D

I would love to live in a modern place, though I've stayed with family members in their big houses of character in the country.

I've been to Babbacombe for a walkabout this afternoon, and used the cliff railway to go down to Oddicombe Beach. The cliff has eroded quite badly, and a house at the top is in danger of total destruction.

You know, when I look at the glorious photos in your link, I think I could live anywhere, modern or old, that would allow me to see such beautiful views :D

I was watching ETTC yesterday and it's only made me want to get on that plane NOW ! I just love watching that show. If ever I won the lottery and had the money to do it, I'd love to buy a house that was a mixture of historical and modern. I'd love beamed ceilings, stonework and character and yet a modern kitchen. After watching the show I've seen so many houses that I would grab in a heartbeat yet the people decide for the other one..

Mmmm Puddings, I like Brewers Faire too, some don't like chains but so long as the food is good and the people are nice I eat pretty much where my wallet dictates and you can't beat two meals for £10
Theres a great Chippy right by the Tram going up the Great Orme, I think it's called Tramway Fish and Chips or something, he has a nice dining room or take out.

Here is a pretty cottage for sale only 100 yards from the Babbacombe Downs view.

I walked past it this morning, it has a front garden to set it back from the road.
