If you didn't see 60 minutes last night you missed a good story.

A Mortgage foreclosure scandal story, 6 major banks were involved with a company that hired people sweat shop style to sign and forge so called lost mortgage documents, they were acting as bank managers for $10 an hour, all signed using the name Linda Green, its another mess we the tax payers will have to pay for.

Its on the Net, you should watch it just to see if your bank is on the list.

How much Kendal was there compared to how much veal (aka dead babies)? Just trying to weigh up the cost-benefit analysis of watching

Yes well I turned the sound down on that bit!! It was about a dairy farmer and how he is now producing veal.........

Then there was a bit about Morecambe bay and the shrimps - oh it was sooo lovely there, I must look into it this year.

What beach? From Four Winds, how does one get to the beach? Did you buy a car? I think driving is going to be one of the hardest things to get used to.
Wear your sunscreen ;-)

Hi Celticspirit.... I was responding to Rodney, he had said he was going to take a train and head to the beach, ( the weather was lovely at that time), I wish there was a beach near the four winds, unfortunetely closest is near Newcastle:rofl:

Sorry I misread. Newcastle is quite a distance for you but has a lovely beach. They have made some hugh improvements to the sea front.

Yes it is about half and hour away, it is really nice now, my daughter used to have a caravan there, and the kids loved it, it was so safe for them to play, did'nt matter if it was raining out they went with wellies, raincoats, and played all day long, rosy cheeks, healthy food, we had to call them in to go to bed..... great life for families. My son now has one of these static homes, and goes every weekend regarless of the weather and spends 2 weeks of the summer there, they love it:) and all computers ect: are band:eek:

Yes I Just hop on a bus and there I am in 15 minutes right on the beach, its so very nice to have the sea all around me, and so many places to go too like hop on a ferry and have a nice day out in the Isle of white, beautiful place, Mum's going there tomorrow with the club that she belongs to,
Soon I will be looking into clubs that I can join to make friends, Mum is good and great to live with but I do need my own friends in my age group too,
Rodney.

Rodney I would love go see you join a club that will interest you, where you could meet friends, have you maybe thought of lawn bowls? or Indoor bowls, seems that is very popular here for people our age? You do need company of your own age, and to be socialising a bit more, so go to the Library, check out what is happening in your area, and look at something you think you might like to do and go for it, I have now joined a golf club, and joined the ladies section, the hardest thing was the first time I had to walk into the changing room on my own, but you know Rodney, they have welcomed mw with open arms, made sure I was never left on my own and invited me and included me in all social events that are happening in the club. Today I am just back from a ladies days outing to another course, where we played in the pouring rain, had tea and scones on arrival, dinner and drinks, bus took us there and back, sing song on bus and a few drinks, I played terrible, but I had such a good time, and the craic was just fantastic, I feel I belong now to something and am apart of it, so please take that first hard step, you will find people will take you by the hand, and again that is the difference in the UK from the states. Its just the first move is the hardest, but Rodney go for it you will be surprised at how friendly and nice people really are Denise2:thumbup::fingerscrossed:
