All the Enid Blyton books and story time at school on Friday afternoons in top class.
The Faraway Tree - The Magic Wishing Chair. Famous Five and Secret Seven and then the boarding school series like Mallory Towers.
Lizzie Dripping - the girl who saw a witch in a cemetary.
Playing rounders at school and out on the street at home.
Sports day in Junior and Infant school ... egg and spoon race - three legged race, sack race and the wheelbarrow race.
Saver strips for bus rides that you punched in a machine on the bus and they forever became known as a "kerching"
Hammer House of Horror on Saturday nights.
Hockey boots - frozen pitches, knees and fingers and then a communal walk through shower at school and the sports teacher was always a lesbian.
Sleeping in the boot part of the car on a blanket with the dog.
Flourescent ankle socks that got banned at school.
Vomit inducing tapioca, semolina and rice pudding. Even the dollop of strawberry jam never improved the taste or texture. Nicknames for the same school puddings ........ wallpaper paste and frog spawn.

Getting your friend from A to B by riding them on the cross bar of your bike (we called it "giving a croggie")
School song about school dinner puddings
"Semolina Pudding, Dead Dogs Eyes, all mixed up with snot and bogey pies, mix it, stir it, til it's very thick,. and then swallow it down with a cup of cold sick...."

i remember one day in secondary school at dinner time when the noise level had exceded that of a Concorde, the headmaster stood up and thumped the table and shouted for quiet at the top of his voice..." its so loud i cant here my self think" and of course some namless wag responded with "stop thinking then you old fart", we were then held to detention for the whole dinner break in silence, coz no one was going to snitch on me,,ooops the culprit
we wernt even allowed to eat our dinnersps. i loved the skin of the custerd

Team of eight, maybe, each one about a yard behind the one in front. Seven spread their legs
or should I stay stand with feet apart. The one in front has to roll the ball between his/her legs and the seven behind guide the ball down the tunnel.
The one at the back picks it up and runs to the front (while the rest step back) and rolls it down the tunnel again. Each has to do it once to complete the race.
At my junior school it was standard along with sack race, egg and spoon, wheelbarrow and 3-legged race.
