Hmmm .. Was cycling to club this morning .. Thru the offending junction... Road work going on, flagged directing traffic.
Flag lady standing by me says "sorry for the delay but we are making some changes to increase cyclists safety, the new system wasn't really working!"

I cycled that way yesterday. I drove through there today, past the same working crew. SO glad to hear they're making changes!

I'm glad to see they've made Main/Union safer too. That intersection was scarey to cross.

Not sure what to think about the laser idea, I wonder if dancing lights on the road would become a kind of hazard in itself (distraction, false positioning) but it's certainly cool.
