OK, so tonight being Valentines what else other than 'at home, two of us.

Meal consisted of 1.5 cups of left over mash potato (cost ~$0.15) made into [PC]potato pancakes (add flour, salt & pepper all mixed together & flattened) done in the toaster oven. When baked the PC were sliced & topped with margarine.

The PC together with 3 slices each (6 total) of Carvers bacon grilled (from a $0.99/500g pack on special) ~$0.50

Followed with a fresh fruit plate consisting of seedless orange slices from one orange, hand full of grapes & two diced large strawberries - ~$1.50

Total cost of the meal for two people ~ $2.15 ($1.075/serving)

Tomorrow tea is (a cooked today after 7pm) from the left over pork shoulder (and there is still pork leftover), added 2 tablespoons Lee Kum Kee curry paste, 1/4 cup madras curry powder, tablespoon tomato paste, a large green pepper, one large onion, raisins., all mixed together in one litre water.

Total cook time one-hour

Served with steamed basmati rice that had a teaspoon of turmeric added in to give the golden colour. The pot of curry will go two meals for three people - 6 meals in total - all in cost for the pot of curry & rice less than $2 or $0.33/serving

Chicken & Prawn in a garlicky, oreganoey, mushroomy sauce and rice for three and a Thai Red Curry version for me.

Shiraz Rosé. I bloody love that combination.

That looks like a nice combination.

We're going out for a posh steak and chips tonight but as I've completely given up drinking, combining it with a nice red wine is off the cards, I'll just have put up with the Anchor Steam lager and a couple of tequila cocktails.

Had a nice starter of some fishy bollocks and then a naff-off steak that was pretty good but regretablly had some crab legs that were a little underwhelming but the sticky toffee pudding made up for it.

The others all have maple syrup on theirs but they butter them first.
(they do the same with wraps too, before putting mayo and then the filling)

These days I like a savoury one first, followed by a sweet one.

But I have a super painful leg today and it hurts to walk so I didn't get out for the necessary supplies.

I had to make do with fig preserve on mine. But it was nice.
