Roast pork (with a nice bit of crackling) roast spuds, roast carrots, green beans, ordinary stuffing, 'my' gravy and some cranberry sauce left from xmas.

A great post xmas festivities dinner.

Cold smoked salmon, a collection of cheeses and some sliced meat. And as we're off the booze for January, just a couple of bottles of pinot gris to wash it down.

Now that sounds pretty damn good - apart from the booze bit ..

Step daughter bought a semi boneless leg of lamb - PC 'easy carve' in a box. $41 but it looks like it will go for the four of us twice.

It looks like it might cook up like lamb shanks. I hope so at that price.

Seeing this thread open got me thinking about supper, and instead of the chili or spagbol or cheeseburger, having had such great success baking wings in the oven, (yes, got a stove with an oven door) I wonder about baking meatballs with cheese and mushrooms stuffed inside them, anyone use that recipe?

I can relate to that. Those vacuum things definitely help to preserve the wine for a couple of days - one day if red.

That does, of course mean having half a bottle one day and the rest the next so if the day after opening it you plan to have egg and chips it doesn't really work.
