I think I'm going to make the African sweet potato peanut butter chicken and peppers thing; I believe I have the technology and the ingredients.

Nope, not here. This evening was horse steak with 'the next level' of fries - I'd been feeling slightly threatened by the local chip shop, so felt I had to up my game.

Mission accomplished.

This is a good point. I tend to mix up NSD with NND (National Noodle Day). I had mapped out my dish for tomorrow evening, was earlier today in a way out supermarket (geographically that is, the produce was pretty standard) no suitable noodles in sight, loads of pasta however.

Could I, could I maybe substitute the smaller version of spaghetti (spaghettini ?) for noodles, then suddenly felt myself projected on to the film set of Alien or similar; something odd ran up my spine and whispered don't even THINK about it.

Yo, boss, gotcha.

A shoppin' we will go. Manana.

I do, all the time. If you subscribe to the belief that Marco Polo brought noodles back to Europe from the Orient it's all good.
For the noodles we are about to receive we are truly thankfull.
Ramen
Edit: For dessert I cranked open the 2012 Wild Goose Pinot Gris I've been hoarding... it's good to be the king.

Ah, got it now, thank you, moving through I remember Soba as being quite light and better suited to purpose!

Should have some (like about three years worth ) in stock...

Santé!

Enjoy it, best wishes to you, and to survive whatever bollocks is about to be thrown at us next.

Soba noodles, leek, carrot and mushroom as a base, with chicken breasts marinaded in a honey, mustard, vinegar and cane sugar bath, then hot'n'fast baked.

Sautéd veggies done in a spice mix of mild curry, garlic, chilli, piment, cumin, salt and pepper.

Chicken cooled, shredded, added to veggies, with noodles on top. A small serving of soy sauce, left to get introduced to each other, then mixed well and left to fester for 10 mins or so, then thoroughly heated up.

Not bad, the final eating needed additional soy sauce. Worth repeating/refining.

Beef in (dark) beer pie with a mash topping.
Not as good as when I've done it before but with a pastry top.

Very nice gravy left though.

Well it sounds good; Good Gravy! is even a common exclamation. I've been thinking about pastry lately so might make some pasties soon, or empanadas, or somosas, or pies, etc. I recently saw some recipes for corned beef hash pasties that looked interesting, if just a bit odd. I have the stuff for that.

Also a band, I think? I've got some stuff on an SD card, but my cellphone currently has the hump, I can't get to it at the moment.

Agree with both interesting and a bit odd - let us know how it turns out if you go for it?
