Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
Haga, I've read and absorbed all the advice. I'm keen on the hanging about in the kitchen part. I have to take my own gluten free snacks and wine so I'll guard them until I've had enough then I'll let the hoards tuck in. I'll try and stay reasonably sober as I had a skinful on Thursday and my liver doesn't recover as well as it used to do.

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
Yeah. BC govt made us apply for CPP over the summer. Just got the decision which was no. CPP has a higher threshold to meet.
BC PWD system recognizes having a disability doesnt necessarily one cannot work but may not be able to work full time or work consistently long term so permits one to work and earn some income. BC PWD also includes healthcare above normal MSP coverage. For instance most medications prescribed are covered in full including dispensing fee. Eye exam I think every 2 years and 1,000 basic dental every 2 years. Dont quote me on the exact amounts as I could be off. If a single parent there is also training programs available for in demand jobs.

According to this Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) |
You may get as much as $1417 per month for a family of two. There's also drug cost benefits and you can have up to $7500 in savings.JS - have you looked into CPP Disability pension? https://www.canada.ca/en/services/be...it-amount.html Edited to add, there are other benefits / tax credits and financial help for low incomes in Ontario.. https://ontarioelectricitysupport.ca/FAQ https://www.fin.gov.on.ca/en/credit/otb/index.html |
Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
Traffic was horrible today on the way to work.
Saturday traffic tends to be worse then my weekday commute. Almost an hour to go 16km. |

Half the bottle of tequila has gone, it's not even midday. This is not going to end well. :(

OMG.
There's two people sleeping in my bed and one on my settee and there are two semi-atomic pistols left on my kitchen counter. I suspect there may be some frantic cals this morning. |

What sort of company are you keeping? I guess you might be in for a few freebies if you return them? The possibilities are endless  |

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
Car sharing sounds good in theory. Problem I have is there is hardly ever a car within walking distance.... If I have to hop on transit for 10 mins, may as well just take transit all the way..
Granted if one lives downtown there are lots of cars pretty much 24/7. Less so outside the downtown core. Good in theory, but not so great in reality. |

It all turned out okay in the end when we woke up, everything went back to the rightful owners. But, thank goodness I have two swivel chairs that turn into beds in my study. Secondly, I take it all back, they ate and drank everything except for the chocolate cake and I don't eat that. :(

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
Never noticed before, but when the washer spins the lights dim....
Doctors appointments can be tough sometimes, I only get my work schedule 2-3 weeks in advance, and some of these doctors book 3-4 months out which makes it hard to guarantee I'll have that day off. Apparently next Monday is a provincial holiday, sucks since we only get holiday pay on federal stats. :( And I hate US companies (seems to be most popular with them) obsession with text verification to recover a password, not everyone has the ability to receive these sorts of texts especially when the customer is not in the US with a US service provider, if your going to do business with international customers find a way that works for them...... |
Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
Walnut Whips aren't what they used to be. Thin chocolate, no inner walnut. Tiny.

I remember trying a Walnut Whip and thinking, 'this is hugely overrated'. I was about ten.

The move is down to the increased price of walnuts The walnut itself is as pointless as that piece of lettuce and slice of tomato on a plate of steak and chips. |

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
Bingo. We are getting 20 to 30 per flight at the moment and as its winter and overall demand to Vancouver goes down so does the size of planes.
Regional size planes are not easy to load skis into on top of all the other bags.
