It snowed.

City didnt plow or salt properly.

Semi trucks tried to go up hills covered in ice and snow and shut down the road forcing traffic onto side streets which were also gridlocked and snow covered.

Did not see one plow out during the entire commute.

Airport is a mess as well.

Apart from the odd 5 minute flurry I think we've been nearly 3 weeks without snow. The operators might have forgotten how the plows work, if they haven't seized up.

You can be assured that when it does snow the plow guys will salt the road an insane amount and clear the road many times as they need to spend the unspent budget for snow clearance for the year.

I can well believe that. Spend it or lose it.

It used to happen in my DSS days but stopped somewhere around 1990.

It's probably the perfect snow for making snowmen and snowballs.

I realise it's not as trendy as Sriracha or some Fukushima rated hot sauce but I think vinegar is an underrated condiment.

Yes it has to be a malt vinegar, not this ridiculous non-brewed stuff which is basically coloured dilute acetic acid.

And don't forget its medicinal qualities when combined with brown paper.

You know what? You have experience, perspective, context and most importantly, knowledge. So mentally, you just have go and tell them to naff themselves.

I dont dislike them well there is one I do...lol

Its just hard at times spending 50% of the day mostly alone as when almost everyone is 15 to 20 years younger we have little in common. A few have parents my age...lol

Maybe I just spend too much time at work...lol

I am here 4 to 5 days a week for 12.5 to 13.5 hours, so basicaly spend more waking time at work then home.. Only see my wife for 1 hour in the morning.

Maybe the lack of sleep is getting to me. Max is about 6 hours most nights.

A 2bed 2 bath condo in our building is for sale. 966sq feet.

$869,000.

And we are not even in a great area but its popular with the hipster crowd.

Maintenance fees are apparently $500/month.

Am checking the less visited areas of our yard for a colony of an, as yet undiscovered, non-marine, Canadian species. Could be a few hundred thousand of the blighters.

Last night we went to dinner at a lovely Italian place and I was half way through a tiramisu when I had to go for a slash. After washing my hands, I discovered they had one of those new Dyson hand driers. It's a very weird sensation, not sure they're going to catch on. Anyone else had go on them?

I can heartily recommend 'No Name' Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings. One or other of the 454g/908g boxes always seems to be priced at $5/$10. A nice peppery kick. Comes with sauces but you don't need them.

They'll do in the absence of the crispy Village brand that Giant Tiger doesn't seem to sell anymore.

My GT store has gone out of meat altogether. :( They still have frozen, just no more fresh beef or chicken, etc.

Make your own. Two tips; firstly, toss them in some baking powder, secondly, use some of that non-stick tin foil. Then just crank up the oven to 425/50 and jut turn them over every 15 mins. Crispy deliciousness.

I do occasionally, but they're ridiculously expensive for such scrappy things...almost as much as skinless boneless chicken breasts.

Superstore does 20 cooked wings for $10 about every three weeks and 10 minutes in the oven makes them really good.
