Odious creature. Hopefully he'll learn that if he treats the public with contempt he's going to get that back in spades.

Makes perfect sense doesn't it.
Breathtakingly stupid 'defence'. Who did he expect would fall for that, other that Bojo of course.

Yes to all of that, including Millie's summary

At least he didn't drive to test his eyesight.

I do not know anything about the guy, but surely if he did something wrong he should be fined and put through the courts instead of harassing him and his family 24x7? Seems like a lot of people have a grudge with him and this is their pay back time. Politics eh?

He's part of a government telling the public not to travel let alone travel when they are infectious. The news is full of examples of people unable to travel to see sick and dying relatives and health care workers having to live away from their families - even when not infectious.

He and his partner were both infectious and travelled. It was all covered up initially...then supposedly about child care...and all the time his wife wrote in her magazine article about the period as if they hadn't even left London and how their kid was actually helping them.

Bit by bit there are admissions and denials and then more admissions and more denials and then when he finally admits to something previously denied he explains he went for a drive - with his four year old in the back - because he was concerned his eyesight had worsened and he wanted to test it.

It's not really a matter for the courts. You just can't be the chief advisor to government telling people to do one thing and then do something different against all official advice. Others breaking the rules have resigned.

How are the police to enforce such matters when something like this happens?

Yes, it's political, yes, some people will be looking for pay back / revenge, but the majority of the 'not quite yet immune herd' are bleating about double standards and elitism.

Myself, I think of him as a bit like that giraffe named Frank:
Spoiler:

.

With thanks to Nutek for that.

Not often that the bishops join in though.

That they get death threats and hate mail from some of those supportive of Cummings is quite illuminating.

Clearly, those that resigned have set themselves high standards. It's a shame that the likes of Cummings, and the PM of Canada, do not have such standards.

Logic of some people

Can't afford renters insurance = shouldn't have a place to live and be homeless.

Probably the same people who complain about their being too many homeless people.
