Random stuff - the anything else thread

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
My mum's having a sleep this arvo, recovering from her 86th birthday yesterday and gearing up for a few glasses of bubbles at the family Christmas do in the morning.
She's quite fond of quokas, but only as friends.

Turns out the washer cannot be fixed, well it can but the cost to fix exceeds the cost of a new washer due to it not being a North America model, and the motor would need to ship from Germany as there is apparently no supplier in Canada with the part so have to wait and see when a new washer might arrive, with holidays this week, probably not til January.
It's a big development company, so maybe they have spares sitting around.

It makes you think about how many sauces there are? Red sauce, brown sauce, HP sauce, A1 sauce, cranberry sauce, bread sauce, soy sauce, sriracha sauce, secret sauce, salad cream etc . . . It's a very versatile medium.

7/11 is certainly busy today, as are many of the ethnic grocery and bakery places.
If you stay open on Christmas the customers will come.
BC prices changes over the last decade, the necessary things like housing, food, and hydro have increased a fair amount, less necessary goods have largely not moved it seems.

Canada is getting expensive. This reminds me of BC, rents in Vancouver got high so people moved east and into Squamish and onto Vancouver Island and interior, and now rents are high everywhere with little to no housing for lower and moderate income earners.
