I had a cup of coffee in the bus depot in Tulsa, I think it was 2 or 3 in the morning and I could describe the place only in the most general of terms.

For folks who don't have good enough credit for traditional financing, lack cash to buy one outright and need one say for work or school, or lower income folks who don't have access to traditional financing. While I have not used such financing for computers, I can understand why some people may need to use them, same with payday loans which I have used in the past when there were no other options.
Costs more but sometimes one has no other options.
Costs more but sometimes one has no other options.
I have difficulty accepting it for other things - like a bedroom suite for example. TBH I don't even understand why someone wants those things anyway where the curve of the bed just has to match the leg of the chest of drawers.

But what about the 49" TV? That can wait can't it? 24 monthly payments @ $90 = $2160. Or cash $1575. Best Buy has refurbished for under $300 or $399 if you must have 4K. Or brand new @ $485. Why $1500?
What would be urgent about the TV that you'd pay that much. House full of screaming kids coz the TV packed up? No alternative like their computer or friend? Or a book?

Who needs a computer for work. Suddenly. Employees will have them provided. Self employed I imagine, but who self employed and absolutely dependent on their laptop doesn't have the means to obtain replacement? The reluctance of Canadian businesses to answer a damned email suggests they prefer a phone anyway

I confess I am really struggling to imagine the circumstances where there's no alternative, even if there is a practical gain. If your computer just blew up you may not have access to the stuff on it anyway and a replacement is only going to connect you. For people so poor, where's the $100 a month going to come from? If you have that, get on kijiji and buy one of the many 14" Lenovos for $90 that Infotech advertise or a $40 chromebook.
All that aside, forget about the instalments, if you have the cash for a cash purchase why spend $1400 when Staples has it and better for half and why pay $1575 when Best Buy has them (new) for $485?

On the 737-800 and 900 most of the weight goes forward of the wing. Once in a while we get a flight full of people but small number of bags and need to load 50 lb sand bags as ballast.

Drove through there once back in 2003 or so and flew through their once, but never spent time there. They did I think they did at some point have the largest McDonalds but not sure if they still do.

I had to look that one up. I remember listening to cab drivers talking in the next booth but not what they were talking about. Because I was in the middle of a 5 day bus trip and I'd never been able to sleep on a bus before, I'd taken a 10mg valium a few hours earlier. We pulled into Tulsa, I woke up and had a coffee, got back on the bus and went right back to sleep.

None of the stores here sell the rum and raisin version anymore
I found some on Amazon and with free delivery the bars don't come to anymore than the store price. Actually less, I believe.
At least not when 12 are ordered.

In 2017
American took in 1.2 billion $ in baggage fees.
Delta 907 million $.
United 794 million
Spirit 492 million
Alaska 147 million
Southwest 46 million*
*Southwest permits 2 checked bags free of charge, they do charge for excess baggage which is why they took so little in compared to others, who no longer include checked bags in the fare and charge extra and excess baggage fees and such.
Bag fees are big money generators for airlines, they are not going to ever stop them, and to top it off because of how US tax laws are, bag fees are essentially tax free.

Ignorant comment on reddit regarding mental health.
"Mental health is entirely circumstantial. Psychiatric work is a profane practice of medicine which is why you are not required to have a doctorate to practice it. The only thing that can cure shitty circumstances are new circumstances. If your life sucks, so will your mental health. Anything on the contrary in terms of treatment is a complete waste of money."
And for goodness sakes, mental health is beyond being circumstantial, yes some aspects of mental health can be, but it's not a clear cut case where all mental health is situational, you could be the wealthiest person on the planet and still have bipolar and go into psychosis or mania, or be borderline, or have anxiety and so on.
I could win the lotto today and while that would remove financial barriers and stress from being lower income, I would still have borderline and would still struggle day to day because of that.
