now I don't work I still don't go to fun things. I guess it's a habit, that and not liking crowds.

Me too - been working irregular shifts for 28 years and much prefer it for the same reasons. Hate it when I have to work 9-5 for courses, etc. Don’t necessarily enjoy getting up at 4am for an early shift though!

Anyone ever eaten Turtle?
I just watched a video of catching, cleaning and cooking a snapping turtle.
Interestingly they missed out the 'killing' part but having watched I can see why. It didn't exactly look dead when

The end result looked a bit like Rabbit.

Have you ever eaten it?
Very astute use of the 'spoiler' tag, by the way.

AeroMexico had a plane crash Tuesday, an Embraer 190, 4 crew and all passengers survived.

I guess in these modern times more and more videos will appear from inside planes during an accident, suppose these videos are of some use to investigators.

Stepson made a cake for his sister today. When he thought it would be done, he checked it only to discover it needed more time so he put it back in the oven for another 5 minutes, another 5 minutes, another 5 minutes....
Then he discovered the reason it hadn't finished was because he turned the oven off the first time.

Venezuelan president Maduro survived an attack by an explosive drone and claims that he was protected by God and a shield of love, and that these attacks by his enemies cannot succeed..... but on CBC news their report cites a fireman at the scene who claims the explosion was a gas cannister exploding in a nearby apartment. Looks like a politically expedient miracle.
Edit: After watching the video on RT there are 2 distinct explosions, the second occurring after the bodyguards have lifted the armoured shields around Maduro. Now I wonder if there was a drone that missed the dais but hit the apartment, detonating their cooking gas cylinder. causing the secondary explosion.
2nd edit: Or the first gas explosion triggered the detonation of the apartment dwellers' spare cylinder as well.....

Power cut this afternoon. 3 hours without it...just beginning to worry about sleeping tonight and it came back on.
Apart from when a power line to the house was down one winter (one of the wall sockets still worked) I think that's in our top three longest outages.
Not sure we ever exceeded 4 hours.
