My thoughts are with you today. A month ago we had arrananged for the vet to come to the house as our little guy was obviously failing and we wanted him to pass at his home. He was 18 years old. However he beat the vet to it by going into his bed and quietly passing away. We miss him desperately.

Or maybe he's simply been catching up on some TV recordings.
Have I Got News For You recently had the superb Andy Hamilton referring to someone speaking "Trumpish"; Ian Hislop - I think it was - interrupted asking what he meant by "Trumpish", and Hamilton replied "It's like English, but with all the meaning taken out".

My condolences. When the vet said there would be no point in taking Charlie home all I could think was that if I'd known I would have shampooed him. It was terrible to be holding a soon-to-be-euthanized dog who was a tangled mess.

One of the deciding factors was the fact that he couldn't stand for grooming, even me brushing him at home was painful for him. I brought his ashes home today. I've been a mess, it hit home that my fluff pups has gone last night, until then the Stiff Upper Lip was working quite well, failing miserably today.

I think I cried every day for about 2 years; I'd see dogshit in the road and burst into tears. I know what you're going through. It's a long time to be best friends.
