I was thinking about this earlier. Macca, together with John, has at least been a major writer in addition to being Beatles and had a more significant career than Ringo who, for a time, was more famous for marrying a Bond Girl.

Ringo Starr has done less harm. Writing Yesterday does not excuse the execrable output of Wings. If McCartney had died aged 30 or so then we might say that he was a more deserving person than Mr. Starr but he didn't, he drones on to this day, and we are obliged to hear his wailing and to hear of his peculiar women friends.

I've met Ringo briefly and he was lovely - that's worth a knighthood. I've heard that Macca isn't lovely at all.

My husband met Paul years ago in London...he asked for our address and sent several of his signed drawings. I have them safely tucked away xin case they are worth something one day. So I would vote that he is a nice guy.

Just feel for the toilet roll holder. Or lift a leg  |

So.. it's your birthday. Friends call around and you have a few. Your wife sits in the kitchen with an empty glass. You can feel her glaring through the wall. You sit around and, yes got it, tummy starts to rumble. "Who's for a curry then?". You know it'll be a mistake, but macho man has been perching on your shoulder the whole evening and you loudly bang on the closed kitchen door as you stumble past. Waiter stands at the head of the table, "Ten beers each and vindaloos to die for.. and make them too hot for beelzibub himself!" The waiter disappears. Later that night. Tummy rumbles a bit more as you lay on the floor having failed to convince your wife that it was somebody elses fault, tummy gurgles. You make it to the loo just in time. Later that morning. "Morning dear, ... you know that nice new light thingy you put in the loo, well it met with an accident........." |
