Nice. I'm starting 2013 as I mean to carry on. With two plump and juicy Cumberland sausages.

Actually I'm quite in favour today as I brought in a 4 and half pounds tin of shortbread that I was given as a present.

Does somebody want you out of the way?
Giving that much shortbread is like handing you a heart attack in a tin.

Hence why I didn't open it. I think it worked out to something like 12,000 calories in the tin, of which 36% of them consist of saturated fat. On bright side they were from Scotland.

I’m as cosmopolitan as the next bloke but $7.50 for a thing called a panini? It was a grilled ham and cheese and tomato roll ffs. That's it, I'm taking the afternoon off.

That’s so posh I had to Google it. Looks very nice though.

After, “I’m just popping down to check the boat and I might have a swift half while I’m there, Love” went somewhat astray, I’m mostly eating humble pie today. :(

Oh dear. Could you not have claimed that a rogue wave took you far out to sea, and you've come back a bit sea-sick?

Not after she found some of the bar receipts. Still a nice posh dinner tonight should calm the waters a little. :)

That sounds good! In the '70s The Only Seafood Restaurant on E Hastings would dish up about 3 dozen steamed clams, a bowl of broth and a bowl of melted butter, and garlic toast for something like $3.50 or $4.00. Businessmen from Granville St would walk down and wait in line with the winos.

Its brilliant, normally I just order it online and then pop downstairs to pick it up, but you have to call down if want miso soup.

ESB is very nice indeed. A bit more kick that Pride. For slightly more kick but without a jet-fuel taste, McEwan's Champion is a worthy brew. Either go well with a fine M&S horse burger.
