OK so I know I am starting this late, but I have to be held accountable by someone (I certainly don't do a good job of it myself )
Was doing amazingly well (for me) on LA weightloss, up until October last year and since then have been fighting a losing battle either maintaining or gaining
Now with renewed determination I am going to set and reach a new goal. Not sure how much I weight any more and know my inches have gone up from their lowest, but also now know I can get back to where I was AND DO BETTER.
From now on the word "weight" is banished from my vocabulary, the universe hears that and just gives me more. So from now on I will refer to myself as not being as slim as I want to be. Universe will hear slim and give me that instead!
I am going to be like the ant too (bear with me here!) The ant builds it's "home" one grain of sand at a time ie. in small steps. Taking small steps will lead to lasting results. So also gone is my "All or Nothing" attitude.
It's time to start anew and show myself just what I can do, who's with me?

Catilin - hope you feel better soon!

Coffeepot - I think I'm doing OK but if I could actually combine inch loss with pound loss I would be doing better, so far I haven't done anything to change the way I eat and it is hampering my efforts.

Tanya - I'm guessing it's you? Welcome to our elite club Wish you every success on becomming a new slimmer you! How does LA weight loss work, we have one in town here?

You did indeed guess right

LA weightloss is basically a reduced soduim and reduced carb diet. You have to tell them how much you want to lose at the start and pay for the time they estimate it will take. You also buy LA LItes from them which are bars or shakes to supplement your diet Again you pay for these up front and just pick them up as you go in. All in all it does work but it costs A LOT especially when you have significant weight to lose.
It is one-on-one which I liked, but you have to go in 3 days a week and weigh in everytime I found quite a difference between the counsellors as to what importance they put on your weight each time you were in (ie some would say only count your weight on the last day of the week, others counted every weigh in as highly important) Also had different views on eating out from the different counsellors. Some say don't eat out till you reach goal, others said it is OK just be careful what you eat!
If you have a bit of stubborn weight left to lose and it is not a significant amount (ie 20lbs or under) it is worth a try. I have lost count of how much money I have given them as I kept renewing my weeks to try to hit goal. Never did reach it, but will exceed it this time I am sure

Hi peeps!

Haven't been around for a while - and I haven't been dieting for longer Probably since around the time this thread got going, hence no post's of losses since my first one (or two? I forget)

I started just over a year ago and am up about 10lbs from my lowest (I had lost 36lbs); but Christmas kinda got in the way. So I'm sorta practicing 'maintenance' at the moment (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!).

My motivation seems to have packed its bags and left home - if anyone sees it aimlessly wandering the streets in their area - please send it back to me!

Most of you seem to be doing very well though - good work!

I think it called by my house just after Christmas, took my motivation with it, and they've both buggered off for a holiday. No postcards or anything. Don't know when it might return. Hopefully soon - summer's-a-coming

OK I have bitten the bullet and decided to do something about it. I have just admitted that I've gone up 2 clothes sizes in 3 months

Before we cames I ran a hotel and restaurant which mainly involved working 18 hours a day sometimes 7 days a week, consequently running round like a blue arsed fly and being too tired to eat, so I went down to a size 6 - 8.

Now because I'm not stressed, working so hard, eating loads its starting to pile on. And to be fair I wouldn't mind if it was going on at and even rate - you know some on the face (would love some on the chest too!!!) some on the waist - an even spread.

But no, it goes arse, thighs and calfs so i:m starting to look pear shaped.

I know that I was too thin before, but when you've never had a 'routine' of eating properly I'm finding it hard to know what to do.

HELP

(PS I hate the gym )

Welcome MMC's! There is no diet like the pub/hotel/restaurant management diet! That was when I was at my skinniest (size 8-10) and I looked ill! pasty faced from being indoors in the gloom all the time

As you know I do Curves, not like a gym really, don't know if there is one in Drumheller though? I also have Henry as EVERYBODY knows 'cause he's all I talk about So he forces me to get excersise because he gets walked 40 mins twice a day minimum. I usually only do one walk and hubby or daughter does the other because of my bad feet but yesterday he got an hour round the dog park and a 40 min walk by his favourite biped - me

Apart from that the only thing that keeps me focused is a weekly or monthly weigh in - if I'm not paying to be weighed I fall off the wagon really quickly.

So good luck with whatever you decide to do. Me wanting to lose weight was a big reason for me to get a dog.

We do have a Curves here and I have started to walk home from work (its 4km) Mr MMC gives me a ride in in the morning - I think I will stay away from the sweetie choccie things, and cheeze whizz sandwiches and just smoke more ciggies and drink more coffee

Will start in earnest today and report back when we see how i've managed over the weekend

Probably not the ideal diet but it has kinda worked for me in the past (only downside is that i'll smell like an ashtray, die 1 million years sooner than I normally would and be bouncing off the cieling 24 /7 (well theres the exercise!))

It's the best diet ive been on...and believe me ive tried quite a few It sounds complicated but its really easy once you get used to it. It's the only diet Ive been on where I eat MORE food that I did before, it's impossible to be hungry on this plan!
