It seems to me that you're making a case for pomposity. Rhetoric, or conversational posting, isn't about using the longest words but about using the most effective words.

"We shall fight them on the beaches"

isn't better rendered as

"We shall engage in combat at the boderline betwixt land and sea".

It seems to me that if a poster can make a point coherently and ideally in a witty fashion then typos, minor errors of grammar or unconventional usage don't much matter.
