Kate, your posts illustrate how spelling doesn't really matter when you know how to use language to paint a picture. You punctuate with emoticons
which means that there isn't an endless stream of text. I don't think of your posts as full of errors, more a joy to read, a breath of fresh air.
Maybe you could teach us all Katespeak?

but kate speak
I still have probs understanding myself, my problem is I do things without thinking or sometime checking my mother always said kate some day it will come up and bite your ass.

'Emagration', 'immagration': WTF?!
You would have thought that after agonising over that very issue for any number of months or years people would at least be able to spell it correctly!
How do these people get in?!
Rant over.
P.S Before any wise-guy mentions the spelling of 'anybody' in the title, my wireless keyboard is screwed!

Who gives a damn really about other posters spelling and grammar? As long as their posts are readable of course. This is hardly Pulitzer Prize winning material here, more a collection of thoughts, advice and experiences.

An old, poor joke with no little or no relevance to my situation whatsoever, since my 'useless' literature degrees have allowed my partner and I to move to Canada much earlier than most can dream of.
In fact, I am studying at a prestigious university where a number of alumni have gone on to publish their work. And I have a viable career in both Academic Publishing and Sales behind me at 27, in addition to my 2 degrees and the one I am studying for.
Oh, and my girlfriend has secured a good job within 4 weeks of getting here, in a city where it is 'very hard to get a decent job'. No, it isn't. It is hard for idiots who don't do their research or develop a network before they leave.
Am I vainglorious and arrogant? At times, yes, but within context and reason. Do I pontificate about Engineering or Chemistry? No, because I know next to nothing about them.
And yes, it is a pointless pedestal but at least we can spell it.
I couldn't care less about making 'friends' with fellow expats on a forum. I have taken and given useful advice over the last two years and I will continue to do so. I just wish more attention was paid to the quality of posts as it speaks volumes about the individual in question.

You do realise that by posting this, from now on every one of your posts will be scutinized for any hint of grammatical or spelling mistakes.
Before setting yourself so publicly on such a pointless pedestal, you'd have done well to remember that there is ALWAYS someone out there who is smarter than you or more anal than you, or more likely, both.
Time for an old joke:
"What do you say to an English graduate?"
"Big Mac and fries please."

Quit while you're ahead...or at least while the hole is not too deep.
When you get older and a little more mature you'll learn to accept and ignore others faults.

I got to the end of the second paragraph and switched off. Odd that someone on their third degree resorts so quickly to calling someone else a tit.
To that I can only say one thing and that is.....bollocks. An over-used word on this forum in some people's opinion, but appropriate none the less.
