Avoiding unnecessary cultural misunderstandings

Here's the crux of the matter. Some are of the opinion that when you emigrate to some one else's country you should keep quiet. Some others think that being an outsider gives you an unique and fairly objective perspective and that one has the duty to express it vociferously.

I think it's possible that the incident being referred to is this one.

Not something I would expect anyone to find humour in.

Well well well, here is again a family of boisterous BE boys pumping their chests like baboons while I was away. That ain’t the incident I was talking about. It was two RCMP officers who fled from the scene and they were literally chased on the road for hours before they were killed by teens. Yeah everyone should be proud of the CA army these days whose morale is pretty low after all the recent bad publicity.

Oh it was something about the (tiny) size of the CA army. This guy was proud of his soldiers fighting in Afghanistan along with Americans. I also made fun of RCMP. I saw a doc film where RCMP were chased and killed by armed teen criminals in rural Manitoba or somewhere in CA.
Maybe this is what gave you a good laugh http://www.cbc.ca/news/story/2003/04...ial030422.html

Bet you had them rolling in the aisles! But then again maybe it was not what you said that made them laugh!

[QUOTE=triumphguy;8758289]Wow - nice one!
So the army that's lost more men than the Brits in Afghanistan? The army that fought alongside the Brits in 2 world wars? The Army (read Navy) that kept Britain supplied during WWII. The army that liberated Holland, or which took Vimy Ridge when the British army couldn't. Do you mean that Army? The army that DIDN'T go to war in Iraq because the country made a moral choice about that particular engagement - a choice which the end results have borne out?
I just wanted to add that a lot of Welsh helped liberate The Netherlands as well as the Canadians. Sorry if this is going off thread and also sorry if I'm sounding as pedantic as others. Let's hope I don't get ripped again

This forum is not funny. Very predictable. A bunch of guys chest-pumping, high-fiving, or ****. That's all.
