The Comfort Zone. Favourite food, drinks, where to buy, and recipes.

In December I bought something on Amazon.de and still haven't got it, even though eta was 29.12.2012. I've tried tracing the parcel but it says on Amazon that it's not possible because it's overseas. I've contacted the supplier via Amazon twice and also the supplier directly but have received no reply from either. What do I have to do now to either receive it or get my money back? Obviously the money has already been debited to my credit card.

I bought a gift on Amazon UK in dec that never arrived . I conatcted the seller though Amazion to no avail and then I put in a claim . In the orders area there is a claim button . have you tried that ? I got a refund in under 20 minutes because I accepted an amazon bonus ....

This might seem like a bit of a silly one, but can anyone enlighten me on the precise English translation of the newspaper, Il Corriere della Sera? I guess that the obvious one is 'The Evening Courier' (or even 'The Evening Messenger'), but 'per scrupolo' I'd like to double check (as I've recently seen it referred to in the British press as 'The Evening Mail').
Any suggestions from a 'pignolo' or 'pignola' bilingual will be much appreciated.

my view is that the precise English translation of "il Corriere della Serra" is "The Corriere della Serra".
If pressed to make an imprecise translation I would go for your obvious one

I had a similar experinece , maybe the supllier did send the item but it got lost in the post , the important thing is that you got your refund and Amazon and the seller will sort themselves out !

Many thanks for your kind reply Garbatellamike. Ironically, my question arose after having read a letter in Private Eye's 'Pedantry Corner' in which a correspondent pointed out that "il Corriere della Serra" (sic) means: "The greenhouse courier" and not "The evening courier". I wonder if you were being deliberately (and charmingly) obtuse or if it was a (charming, but evidently not unique) 'typo'?

Doh! I posted the original question on the wrong 'sticky' thread: (I should have posted in on the 'Talk the talk. Italian Language Questions' thread – 'che figura!')

Don't feel a bit like cooking dinner, but I have fresh fish so I'll have to.
I will make the kids slit the prawns to remove the black, yakky bit. They wanted the bloody prawns so they can work for them. They like ripping the heads off and cracking the backs of them.
Makes me laugh sometimes if I watch Come Dine With Me because so many UK folks on that programme are so squeamish about fish.
