from what i understand from reading up from the forums and my agent, it seems that processing had been definitely slowed down till further notice.

I'm afraid not, ever since the economy took a nosedive the priority for application processing have changed:
1. Sponsored by an employer.
2. Sponsored by a state.
3. 175 on CSL
4. 175 on MODL
5. Normal 175.
At this point I believe they are busy with the CSL's, but they still process sponsored applications as they arrive. Once the CSL's are finished they'll start with the MODL's, but I doubt that will still happen in 2009.
If you're lower than MODL nobody knows how long you'll still have to wait.

wish i could be more patient, but its not that easy
. just have to check status every day. would be nice to know the date when diac decides about application.

Anyone got any ideas on a NT SS 176 Visa, how long between getting the SS and lodging the DIAC forms until our Visa is approved??
We are planning to leave in January and have set all dates for that, hoping we get it before obviously.

Out of all the states, NT is the toughest to get SS, in my opinion, Having said that there are many who did get. Average it takes about 8-16 weeks to grant SS.
then you have to lodge 176, again it might take between 3 to 12 months
for final visa grant,
So, If you have got NT SS yet , you January planning it out of the question,
but then again " miracle do happen"
All the best pal.
