Piece of string thread 2009-2010
#347
just hope you didnt move the thread where I originally posted and then tell us that it has been asked SOO MANY times in an ill-tempered way... the original thread "How long does a CO hold a file in hand?? " where srnp as OP was more relevant for me and my current stage.
I am not bad tempered. I have not replied in an ill tempered manner. I am in a very good mood as you would be aware if you were in my house which obviously isn't going to happen.
Smiles widely - no one knows the answer, not even DIAC - still smiling widely

Is that better?

whoa... relax!... this was the first time i ask the question.. sorry if that were asked too many times. of course we dont expect finite dates as cases differ from one another... but having an idea on how long (based on their personal experience) on previous applicants will be a BIG help. i thought that was the use of sharing timelines... if you could only advise posters in a more friendly way... the text in bold above for me is kinda annoying...

I agree totally, we are just curious to other peoples personal experiences.....sometimes I think people forget how they felt when waiting for their visa
A thread was closed the other day for too much "chat". I actually found the "chat" really useful as we shared a common interest. However, who am I? Just another soon to be expat, who clearly has no right for "chat". Must stop chatting.......must stop chatting.......must stop...............................

You've obviously not explored BE. All country Immigration Forums are for just that, Immigration. Each country or area also have at least one other forum which is for chat. You and others, including me and I remember it vividly, look to the Immigration Forum for facts. Those facts need to be easily accessible as most of us are busy people and don't have time to wade through non relevant chat just to find those facts. In Australia's case the chat goes on in both The Barbie and Australia. You will find hundreds of people with a common interest in Australia, chatting happily in both of those forums. Give it a go.

There was even a single thread in one country's general chat forum where many of the posters believed that was BE. People see what they want or need to see and if they don't see a need to look further they don't.The Immigration Forums have never been for chat and no one's had a problem in the past 9 years. If you want to chat with others in your position, we have PMs and emails. They work very well and people become very good friends and meet up regularly.

Why would it worry you? Many many people register with BE and can be online for months and months and never know anything about forums other than the one they post in

Think when you said I "obviously" hadn't explored BE.........as you will find from other comments, you sometimes come accross in a not so nice way.

It appeared obvious to me as you were discussing chat in the Immi Forum. You told me otherwise. No issue, I respond as I find.
