Thanks! My hubby has taken year off from work here in Finland, I'm on maternity leave and hubby already has a job offer in Brissy so things couldn't be better! Just need the visa to start our new lives now!

Enough of me, back to you....................have you thought of transferring some funds into a bank account in her name? I'm not sure if that would work, but if you could put enough funds in for 2 years they may be happy with that. Don't give up hope yet - if you need more advise and you've not gone through an agent, it may be worth giving George Lombard or Alan Collett a ring to see if they can suggest anything.

Got everything crossed for you.
thanks Mary.. yes that is a thought.
We have gone through an agent, and they have made various suggestions, but to me it just all sounded so hopeless... :-(
Ted has 4 cousins (his Aunts children) who do own their own houses, etc. and the agent suggested getting a signed certified statement from them too, but the worry is of course that they aren't the sponsors, the Aunt is.
Feel all up in the air again.. thought it was going to be so straightforward and simple..

This does not make sense hey??Are you non-MODL? Is Finland considered a high risk country? Lets cross fingers that your phone call will make things happen!

Non MODL and very low risk country.

I think they have to say what she said and actually it suits me better since the longer I can keep hubby home the easier it is for me Not looking forward to him starting his job when we get the visa

Here also, non MODL and very low risk country but a state sponsorship which should speed things up

Still no progress, even after the call which I made one week ago.
Ah it is ok, I don't even want a visa at the moment. Lets get on the plane have a few weeks of holiday, followed by a trip to NZ

Kaitlin and family, have a good flight!

slight relief.. Ted has spoken to his cousin - in - law, who helped out with his Aunt filling in the sponsor forms etc.. she was soooo laid back, said yep don't worry, we thought they might ask questions like that we'll get it sorted over the weekend..
phew..
so - we might be slightly behind Kaitlin, Mary, and the other Decemberee's, but hopefully we'll still get our visa soon..

Thought I'd share something quite amusing with you guys though.
The reason for the request and delay with my Form 80?
For some reason the Australian government thought I was Ted's Malaysian wife... some mix up huh????

I am glad that this will all be sorted. It's a good thing your cousins were thinking/planning ahead for it.

thanks Tiger... I'm a bit more relieved I have to say.
They're good people you know... Cousin Julie was just so laid back about though - I said gosh I hope some of that chilled out attitude can rub off on me when I finally live in 'Stralia.
Not got the all clear yet, but I'm definitely more hopeful.

I looked at the timelines several weeks ago and it looked like desk job professions (IT professionals, Accountants etc) were getting visa's through quicker and that the trade professions seemed to be slower If CO's do specialise in certain occupations, it may well be that the CO assigned to your occupation has a backlog and that's why you're seeing people after you getting visa's. Not much consolation, but it's the only thing i can think of.

I know it's really hard, this process is either gonna break us or make us stronger.

Thank god for your cousin If the worse comes to the worse, can you change the sponsor to your cousin?

Hi All

We applied paperbased 24th Dec07. No case officer yet. But not done meds or police checks. Going camping for a fortnight next week. Do you think we will be safe to say that not likeley to get requested for them in the next couple of weeks? Was paperbased and hubby nurse skilled 175 visa. Panicking a bit as only have 4 weeks to submit when requested I think. Was going to get them done a few weeks ago but my lad was in an accident and ended up in hospital. Only just over it now.

Good luck everyone anyway.

Tracey

Not sure what he thought - think he was just a bit perplexed that the processing people could mix paperwork up like that!

Not sure if we're able to change sponsors, I guess that would then mean we'd have to start the whole application over!
Hopefully by Monday we'll have something positive to give to our agent to forward on - fingers crossed!

Hi all,
Decided to leave police checks and meds as havent sold house but now thinking we must be near...? Lodged 17th December. Noticed that a poster says we have 4 weeks to submit them. I am so useless at this and have trusted in our agents to do everything. Does anybody out there think it might be wise for us to get them done sooner than later?
Have had 2 viewers in the last week after a price drop and now think we might as well. I dont think it will affect validation chances too much will it?
Best wishes to all, Lou and Barkers
