The Grandchildren are off school and loving it. The main reason we are still at home is because I wanted to do a Christmas Market trip to Switzerland! We go soon, if the weather allows.

The Government has ordered an inquiry into the chaos at Gatwick. They spent £300,000 on a snow clearing vehicles last year and it seems they are no good. Its not the vehicles that are no good its BAA that is rubbish..! We fly out tomorrow night from Heathrow on Jet. Hope its not another " Dust in the sky situation !" London blanketed in snow this morning.Highbury Fields looks lovely until you realize its mostly slush and turning into water.

A friend was due to fly back from Goa to Gatwick on Monarch this morning. Was told by agent last night that her inbound flight was stranded either at Gatwick or elsewhere due to the weather situation.
First visa problems, now bad weather - what next??????????

Fingers, eyes & everything else crossed for you.

If your Belfast flight is screwed, there's always the Larne to Fleetwood ferry - only an hour or so from there to Manchester airport.

I've been having a look at the Manchester airport website & whilst there have been some domestic cancellations, all the international flights seem to be getting away okay from Manchester & there isn't much snow on the ground in (North) Manchester - South Manchester where the airport is should be pretty much the same.

Thanks for the update on Manchester airport and the advice on the ferry.
I will be monitoring the situation very closely indeed over the next week....at the minute the long range forecast from the NI Met office is predicting next week to be cold but no real problems otherwise, no major snow issues, i just hope it remains that way.

Remy

This was my conversation with the girl on the check-in desk for Air Malaysia in Mumbai!
You haven`t registered!
I dont have to its a tourist visa.
But you`ve overstayed!
No I haven`t . July to end november is 5 months. 150 days.
You are coming back?
Yes in 62 days!
But you must be out for 2 months!
Yes 62 days is 2 months!
Well you seem to know the rules.
Good job I do!!
