I really can't believe, after all the build-up, that no-one who attended the meeting last night has put even a brief summary of events etc for the benefit of those still in UK?

There is just a couple of lines on Buyer Beware thread J5 - maybe they want to keep it hush hush.

It would have been nice,to know what happened,I have called some friends in Goa but it seems the location put a lot off in the south so I don't think it was as well attended as it maybe could have been.
I wonder why they would keep it hush-hush.?
It's a shame if it wasan't attended as this was an oportunity to make ones problems heard

I attended the meeting good attendance as Andy stated, everybody that spoke asked the questions that have been brought to the for front on this forurm, the one about confiscation and fines was brought up by abusybee who we all know had the show cause notice issued and have gone public with their situation thats what they were told at their interview.
As for the 2 ladies, sorry ive never heard of anyone being harrassed like that over the property situation and feel theres is more to there situation than just property and visas.!!!! MO.
One well known person spoke of the "400" that started this all off " when the property ban started and said quite rightly even though the ban has been imposed the goans are still selling their land and buildings are still going up so its not the fault of the FN's so the goan goverment need to look closely at theor "policiy and now allow the "400" FN's to sell as they pose no threat to the goans.
Vicki could not commit herself to any of the questions asked and to be honest i dont blame her but they are going to investigate further and if indiviual people email here with their stories all will be taken onboard by the british government whether visa or property !!so the ball's in both our courts.

Its weird the way no one is willing to give a detailed report on the meeting. Something very strange is going on!!!!

I do feel it was a positive as it could be this time as Vicki only had a few stories to go on and as she quite rightly stated the more information she gets from people the more ammunition she has to take to the indian government, I feel people who are remaining silent need to come forward now as we have the backing of the UK government as such.
Its a good start and Vicki intends clearly to keep going until she has some answers, she is hoping to have another meeting in december so more short termers can attend
We need everyones support now if we are going to win this battle.

Great to hear the meeting was a positive one.

It looks like the visa clampdown is effecting other nationalities also......1500 expats given notice to leave India.

Just thought i'd let you folks in Uk know, a group of us had a BBQ yesterday afternoon/early evening few beers then at 10pm went to Teamers(beach road) sat there for over an hour and were given "FREE BEER" bottles of Tuborg, guys had a blast something for nothing (shame i dont drink) ..

We have bought series 8 of McCleods Daughters (the last series) which we imported from Oz as we did for Series 7 - sad or what
We watched 1 to 3 in Goa when we first had cable then when went to Oz saw them to series 6 so had to buy the others.
My OH cousin is a rider in every series so we have to watch it - that is my excuse -
