One of the greatest ever race horses. Holds a number of records including winning the 2009 king George Cup by 34 lengths at least ( they couldn't measure).
This year 1st race of the season, said to be too old at 11 years, but just jumped with perfection and won.
Mainly a great character, and appears to enjoy the fame!

Grand National is my fave - in my much younger days I bet on the winner 6 years in a row - but haven't had a bet for years.

Only time I bet on a horse and was told it was a dead cert and lost 50 quid. And 50 quid was a lot of money in those days. Stick it all in the bank now

Its' the 'dead' bit that says it all! I chose my horses very scientifically! I pick out names I like and owners colours I like. Had a really good day at Goodwood once when a horse with the same name as my house came in at 100 to 1. I give myself a limit, only take that much cash plus food/drink money.

My rule is; must see them in the paddock whether on TV or at the race. Even those with the most talent have their 'off' days and don't want to race. Can still be wrong though, frequently !!!!
Dislike the Grand National, but I read that reforms are likely this year; restriction on numbers, only previous top grade winners, safer fences etc.

Yes, my wife uses that scientific method ...... she says "that's a nice coloured horse", and of course we all know that it's bound to win. I often feel like betting my the shirt off my back based on this, but somehow I always pull back at the last moment

P.S. If you'd asked a couple of months ago I could have brought you a well-used one from the UK _ I replaced it with an electronic one that reads the cats' microchip but it beeps and frightens one of them so he won't use it, so that was money down the drain!
