That's a bit far North for you innit?
If you & Emsirrah are referring to the establishment that I think you are, I'm shocked! I wouldn't have envisaged nutrition conscious, food knowledgeable people having been seen dead anywhere near that sh1thole - still at least it wasn't KFC. . . . . . . . .

I made it as far as Yorkshire a few weeks back, Bedale, Ripon, Richmond, etc, and all on the scooter.
In fact Surrey to Spondon is almost a weekly trip these days as I dont like to stay in one place for too long.
McDonalds? After the health risks of trying to live in Goa it seems OK, and its reliable and cheap, two other essentials in my life at present.
And the large Latte for £1.39 is brilliant when you are cold and tired, a real pick-me-up.

As for comparing McDonalds to trying to live in Goa - fair point! McDonalds don't want to poison their customers (bad for business) where as I'm sure there are some establishments in Goa that don't actually care whether they poison you or not once they've had your cash!
What's the sustainable top speed of the scooter & what's the longest stint you've done timewise on the road without a break?

I know Spondon (motorcycle frame manufacture?) is Derbyshire & not really the 'North' as I know it, but I've got used to you mentioning places in the Southern half of the country.

Still gives 70-80 mpg
3 hrs is the longest without a break, but with bed, clothes and tent on pillion seat, can lean back like an armchair.
Recent French trip involved 1100 miles in ten days.
The Sunday was spent high-speed riding with big bikes (1000cc plus) and none could believe how the scoot kept up. As one person observed "You dont brake AT ALL for bends, do you?"
Have been toying with the new Gilera GP800 (google it) but apart from the high cost, it would remove all sense of achievement from the riding. Have you seen the three-wheeled Piaggios? Loads around in France and the owners are all 50 plus but ride as if they have left their fear in "un petit boite" at home!

You'd be hard pressed to ring every ounce of performance out of that like you probably do with a smaller machine.

Can you imagine being offered a "bottomless cup" in Goa? It would probably be just that as they would not have to give you anything to put in it!
Incidentally, a large latte in Cafe Coffee Day in Candy-linoleum was more expensive than McD's, Panjim very slightly cheaper but you have to walk up a lot of stairs to get it!

You are quite right, of course. It was the first time I had encountered that bonus.

First thing I do when I get up in the morning in Goa is make a pot of coffee. I then sit on the balcony reading a book and drinking the coffee. Wonderful, can not wait. Got to do a trip 'up north' before we fly out but further north than Spondon. Usually stop somewhere like Thirsk for breakfast. Wetherspoons do a fifth cup free on their coffee and it's good coffee.

If you can get a large, internationally acceptable, Latte Coffee for Rs20, please let me know where............or even Rs50.
We are not talking a Nescafe with powdered milk here..........standard shack fare. Medically I am not allowed coffee in any form, so when I treat myself, its got to be good.
Certain things make life acceptable and for me (because its dangerous) a good Latte falls into that category. Until I stopped alcohol, coffee was zero tolerance, now its a treat, and not to be "risked" lightly!
Although with the Spondon McD's botty-less cup..............hey! what did tomorrow have to offer anyway?
