Still under guarantee - but didn't take the extra insurance out on it, PC world now say we have to pay. Left the showroom with number to telephone, rang it and they refused to help as I had not bought their Tech.cd. Rang Dell
you have to pay there as well. Been online if it was not Vista could have tried Restore, but this one asks too many complicated things Hem, you know me switch on, switch off, email, copy and paste. No worry will get it fixed when a friend comes back from holidays.

I hate those bloody insurance policies that they try & sell you - TOTAL RIP OFF!

Look in: start, settings, control panel, add or remove programs - it should have something about restoring your system to an earlier date! Pick a date in the past when you 'know' the laptop was okay - worth a try!

You will see the prices for each destination on the board, at the kiosk at the airport, last year it was 675 rups.

Probably about 650 to 700 unless the prices have gone up, what you do is go to the kiosk just by the exit from the airport, tell them where you are going to and they will give you a voucher for the taxi driver with the price on it. Show this to the first taxi driver you come to outside the exit.

I thought the whole idea of the "Pre-pay kiosk" at the airport was that you prepaid according to the official list of prices posted there, and avoided getting shafted by the scum of a taxi driver.
Or am I missing something here?

Now J5 why should a Pre-pay kiosk take your money, you know they change the rules as frequently as you change your ........... Just telling Billy to make a note of the price on the official list and not pay a penny more.

Reasoning?
1) the more you use them, the more they try to charge you
2) as soon as they find a mug prepared to pay more than you, they are no longer available
3)they all charge more for an airport pick up than the pre-pay board at Dabolim states
4)they have a limitless list of sob stories in the hope that you will offer financial support
5)they play Bollywood crap on the car stereo at full volume when you and your friends want to chat
6)they never miss a chance to divert your journey to somewhere they will get some form of commission
7)when you learn the language (I have), they slag you off and denigrate you to other locals at every opportunity.
8)their driving "skills" are atrocious, if not dangerous.
Having travelled the world, if I had to generalise on taxi drivers I would say that once you are in their cab, they adopt a certain protective attitude towards you.......at the very least that you are their own specific victim.
But not in Goa......

Found recently that there are lots of "local" taxi drivers around the airport exit who ask if you want a taxi (usually ask if you are going to Baga or Calangute) and are doing it for 500rps. They told to us to say we had pre booked them by phone from UK if anybody asked.
Pity we had done just that - our usual lad charges us 650rps.
