[/QUOTE]Just reading on one of the holiday forums that it is breaking news that the owners of Thomas Cook have filed for bankrupcy. Haven't heard the news myself yet.
It is Germany's Arcandor which own 53% of Thomas Cook.

Arcandor said its bankruptcy filing covered German retailer Karstadt and its mail-order businesses.
However, it added that Thomas Cook would "remain unaffected".
Thomas Cook is the only profitable part of Arcandor, and the German firm's 52.8% stake in the travel firm is worth about 1bn euros.
This will have no impact on holidays - customers should not be concerned whatsoever. Thomas Cook moved quickly to reassure its customers that they would not be affected by the problems at Arcandor.
The holiday operator said it was "completely ring-fenced" from Arcandor and that the two companies were operationally and financially distinct.
"We've been around for 167 years and will be for many more," a spokesperson for Thomas Cook told the BBC.
"This will have no impact on holidays - customers should not be concerned whatsoever."

Ryan Air Cabin Crew Induction training course: ALL PASSENGERS ARE SCUM! Course Ends.
Ryan Air Cabin Crew In-flight safety briefing: SIT DOWN & SHUT THE F**K UP! Briefing over.
I'd sooner stick pins in my eyes than give Michael O'Leary a single penny of my hard earned cash! The only good things about them were that the planes were modern & when they didn't cancel the flights they were usually on time - forget gentle descents though!

Monarch ain't brilliant, but if you pay £35 per person each way for extra legroom/exit row seats and as long as it is safe & delays under an hour either way, then it ain't bad either - If Dick Turpin Air, sorry I meant Ryan air flew to Goa, I guarantee it would be a whole lot worse - what's Lunatic O'Leary's latest? Oh yes, remove 2 toilets so there's only 1 left, charge the punters a quid each to go for a pee & get 6 extra seats in where the other 2 toilets once were - YES, he is serious!!

Quite honestly I am suprised they stayed in Goa that long - he always looked so miserable and in the tv programme he was never the one that was pushing to live in Goa.
