Smiling sisters shot dead for dancing in the rain: Pakistani girls, 15 and 16, killed along with their mother for making video which 'stained the family honour'

Noor Basra and Noor Sheza were playing outside their home in Chilas
The clip was circulated via mobile phones but caused outrage in the town
The sisters were shot dead last Sunday alongside their mother

It is alleged the girls' step-brother planned the attack with four accomplices to restore the family's honour

How come there are never any reports about men being killed for 'honour' ?

And where is the 'honour' of the suspect who is reported to have run away?

Male chauvinism gone mad. I don't think the press should be calling them 'honour killings' when it is just plain murder. There could never be anything honourable in taking a life.

'Life' in Pakistan seems to have very little meaning whether male or female.

I expected you would point out that it was Pakistan Bipat but so called 'honour killings' happen in India and the UK and no doubt many other countries, a couple were jailed recently in the UK for killing their daughter. I do not know if they were of Indian or Pakistani decent and it is not important it is a mindset. Some men have had control over their wives and daughters lives and they seem to have no wish to give it up and recognise any form of equal rights regardless of the law in whichever country they live in.

Agree with you, there are men of this type all over the world, but what goes on in India (where such attitudes are condemned) and other countries cannot be compared in any way with the multiple atrocities in Pakistan.
Less than 5% girls educated, those who are wealthy and educated are not safe.
So yes, I do find newspaper reports on what happens in Pakistan slightly irrelevant to a British/Goa/India Forum.

Sorry I totally disagree it is disgusting attitudes of India, Pakistan men etc towards their women which absolutely appalling. These men live in the 1700 century. Their attitude is the same whether they live here or in their own countries.

Pakistan is not the only country where suicide bombing prevails....
...and Pakistan is not the only country where so called 'honour killings' are routine !

At least be accurate Noni; Some (too many though)Indian men, Many Pakistani men.
Some British people beat, strangle, stab their children to death ---frequent reports in the newspaper, it doesn't mean British in general are child haters does it?
