For those who have not seen it, this is an extract from a review in the GV ref the Scarlett documentary. The statement in my opinion sums up the Mugabe style Goan "government"
Perhaps Selma may write a review on our situation if enough of us contact her ? If a woman with the weight of a British Press and Foreign Office, cannot get answers, what chance do insignificant mortals without recourse to the echelons of power, have in expecting justice? [email protected] |
Re: In To-day's Newspapers
For those unfortunates who still believe that British MPs have the interests of their constituents at heart, even if they have moved over seas, The Right Honourable,Mr. Keith Vaz, who took a battering from Boris Johnson over the phone:cool. His latest nickname in the Evening Standard is Keith( Vasoline) Vaz. Told you they were slippery........

Re: In To-day's Newspapers
It is total folly. What do they want? To block the river and cause accidents? If it's meant to be "offshore" then let it be properly offshore and out around 3 miles in the sea. Wouldn't fancy it myself on a choppy night ( for me too much like being back on the crossing from Holyhead to Dublin that I put up with as a child , no thanks!!!!!)

From today's Herald
Copywright Herald Newspapers & all that mullarkey:
Fed up with Goa H Wilson Wirral, UK I have been a tourist in Goa for 11 years, the last two for the whole season. In the region of £80,000 has been spent by me towards the Goan economy, £70 this year just to get my visa. Year on year I’d hoped for improvements. Yes, there’s fantastic weather, great restaurants and friendly shacks. However it’s the quality of life issues I take issue with with. Filth and garbage everywhere, huge amount of litter at Calangute steps, domestic tourists urinating, spitting and emptying nasal contents into the road, dogs barking, firecrackers exploding at all hours of the night. Annoying beggars, increasing crime rate, traffic indiscipline, with crazy drivers and riders risking life and limb rushing everywhere. Taxi drivers touting every few yards, they don’t use meters but overcharge. I could go on and on but what’s the point? I’ve had enough. Say farewell to a once dedicated but now very disillusioned tourist. I can't say I feel anything like H.Wilson - I've not been going for eleven years for a start, but long term tourists feeling like H.Wilson are just another nail in the coffin. Regards to all Hemingway. |

Re: In To-day's Newspapers
This seems to be a general consensus. Went into a large tailors in Candolim yesterday and 2 ladies in there doing their last ever Goa shopping after many years of staying long term here. Same in a restaurant last night, seem to be hearing it more and more as the season is coming to an end - "not coming back next season, they don't want us only two weekers so they can have them".
