Re: In To-day's Newspapers
personally I think the scare mongers are out.
If Delhi has made a decision like this it would have been plastered over every newspaper in India and the UK I am certainly not going to start getting in to a panic till I see some sort of evidence. Don't forget either what Gordon Brown said to Delhi after the petition a-f-d put in last year that we all signed GC;) me thinks someone is trying to stir thing up:thumbdown: |

I wouldn't shoot the messenger girl!!,
No one should listen to Vikram Vermin, this man is just out for publicity, have you noticed when ever the property scam is in the media,he is there being quoted.Even when Daff gave her story to the Times,he was there being quoted.I wrote to him 18 months ago,he asked for £500 retainer before he would even look into my case. If the guy's Mick & Nick are using Mr Vermin or A Monterio tell them to get shut straight away GC ;)Im certainly not going into a panic now I know who's mouth this little lot as come out.I think this bloke suffers with verbal sh*ts:thumbdown::rolleyes: |

GC thinking right imho -
the way the mantras of 'buying agricultural land' and 'companies fronted by locals' keep being re-gurgitated it is obvious that many people in the government (politicians and officers) are unaware of some important points of law: # 100% FDI is allowed in many areas, including tourism - so there is no need for local directors or shareholders. # FEMA states that a company* registered in India is a person resident in India - *this is not affected by the fact that the company may be 100% foreign owned. # FEMA states that a person resident in India may own or transfer agricultural land.*** (There are other laws about who may own 'farms' - which is why some filmstars have lost their 'farmhouses' - but this would not be in the remit of the DofE). *** something misunderstood even by some advocates AndyD 8-)# Precisely AFD - this supports my point that when the matter hits the courts and is taken on pure law, I believe change will have to be made. The courts look at the literal meaning of the words and define this as case law - not the interpretations of prejudiced people with no knowledge and a vindictive agenda. Dread - the law is the law x |

As I'm sure you are aware, Dread, this is exactly what has happened to Mick and Nick, two lovely guys who wouldnt hurt a soul.
I have visited their house, along with one belonging to another English guy further along the same road. They are beautiful properties and Mick and Nick's is surrounded by Goan families who are not being harassed at all. The whole thing stinks! I support these guys all the way. Dread - x |

He never appears in the supreme court of India. Check for yourself here: http://courtnic.nic.in/courtnicsc.asp He started with Ingo at first and that's how he made a name for himself with the foreigners in Goa. Just like Monteiro who incorporated companies for foreigners to "legally" buy land. He has no clue about FEMA in details as this requires to be a specialist. His approach with the D.O.E. is frivolous and cavalier, he is not an expert in that field either. Beware ! Ingo is blacklisted by the way and there is nothing VV can do about it. Having handled a few Russians with their DOE issue that's how he was noticed and recommended to the Russian Consulate and appointed. But I don't think they realize how incompetent he really is. Notice also how he always presents himself as a supreme court barrister or the legal counsel of the russian counsulate shows how he is trying to raise his status. A senior lawyer for instance doesn't need to add titles to himself. Being senior already speaks for itself. |
Re: In To-day's Newspapers

BBC Radio 4 PM news programme - yesterday evening regarding UK aid to India which made interesting listening.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/8569174.stm In 2008/9 the UK provided £300m on development assistance - Indian Government spent 1bn USD on space programmes. Should we be funding toilets in the Mumbai slums? Reported by Humphry Hawksley. |

I also find it astounding that money given to the Indian Govt is used to send a rocket into space when millions of their citizens are dying due to curable diseases and abject poverty. Sending a rocket into space is hardly an advancement in science as it has been done many times before by other countries. Complete waste of money and a pointless exercise ! Dread - prioritising ! x |
