Re: In To-day's Newspapers
Whatever your opinion, of whether Scarlett should have been left alone, her Mum needs the support of the British Expats and our Government. We all know that strings are pulled in high places to get criminals off the hook. We all know Anjuna is the hotbed of Drugs, so why are the Police not there full time putting a stop to it - it does not take a genius to work that one out. Stop being on the take and do your job properly, that goes for all the politicians, police MLA'S etc. corruption starts at the top and will NEVER be stopped as they want to line their own pockets first.
Now Goa is wondering why they are loosing tourists, any excuse will do. Credit Crunch - not really, but will be next year. Visa problem - No. 1 problem this year. Greedy taxi drivers - yes Police pulling down shacks whilst tourists are eating great homely feeling of being wanted and safe when the police turn up with sticks machetes etc and start hacking down the shacks. Stinking roads, no pavements, litter, no sanitation. The Scarlett case, and others like it, the bad publicity in other countries. What are the locals doing, just putting up prics. BE REAL GOA BEFORE YOU LOOSE EVERYTHING, the credit crunch is unfortunately for us all, but you would have lost everything this year anyway, the way tourists have been treated. |
Re: In To-day's Newspapers
Wonder if we will be able to get our names down for this residential home for our retirement - 1,200 rps per month not pounds sterling.

Re: In To-day's Newspapers
Great letter in Herald to-day from a G.Pond
say that the IMF has confirmed that the world economny is in recession. With tourism numbers down, mega housing projects all but stopped and Goa having effectively closed the doors on foreign property purchase, may I ask, has Goa every considered what will happen to these half built projects? Good question Mr. Pond. He goes on to say that they will be occupied by migrants workers in their hundreds. With no sanitation, the risk of malaria will increase dramatically and so will the crime rate. Surely, it is better for all to be controlled property purchasers by foreigned, in order to facilitate what will be much needed investement in the state? as the foreign tourism sector dwindles, what is going to replace their funds? What you have you got to loose? YOUR CHOICE GOA |
Re: In To-day's Newspapers
Wonderful article on page 14 Herald to-day.
THIS IS NOT SWINDON - GO HOME BY Laurel Tuohy - think the UK National Papers should print it. It is about the two FN property owners who have approached the British High Commission in Mumbai for protection against eviction. http://www.oheraldo.in |
