Sorry folks just went back to the article and the comment had been deleted? The writer was commending the story but questoining the reason why Mr. Vaz would want to get involved in something like this?!

Oh Lord our deepest wish is to live long enough to see all these wonderful plans come true. An oceanarium? Eco tourism? Adventure tourism? Upgraded infrastructure? Do they know what 'Eco friendly' means? Adventure tourism must surely mean attending a music party on the beach and waiting for the police to arrive!! :curse::curse: We will have to be in the Guiness Book of Records as the longest living humans to see all this. And they are still blaming the recession and the Mumbi bombings :mad: We don't think Daijiworld is hindi for Disneyworld J5, more likely to be 'Out of this world'. :angel_smile:

Daff - what is your problem , with Goas ambitions , the way I heard Mickys statement , well I think it is , a forward thinking plan , that will work , given a bit of time , and investment --- PS I am not , totally ignorant as 2 why all on this board , are anti Goa -- I would be exactly the same , if the foot was on the other shoe !!!!
A Tip --- Go and speak 2 the 1 man , who can help u all , VJM -- A man who believes in Indias proper place in the world -- a man who is out their earning the right for India 2 take its place at the worlds top tables , and a man who understands exactly what that means --- and a man who knows how 2 stop Goas downward spiral --- but guys , u will have 2 help him , so that he can help u --

Whoever VJM is he has not been too much in evidence to date.
So Bagaboy what are our problems, with Goas ambitions? This is a region who cannot even organise the removal of a grounded ship that is causing untold ecological damage to the local environment! How are they going to promote Eco tourism? This is a region who sends in the police to beat up people having a beach party - something that Goa was world famous for once upon a time. How can they promote Adventure tourism?
How would you suggest we help the mysterious VJM? Give him money? There are many on this forum who have been helping local charities in their neighborhoods for a considerable number of years. What did they get for their help? Called 'Riff raff tourists' and persecuted for being foreign nationals with threats of being thrown out of their legally purchased properties and out of Goa. Why would they want to help now? And more to the point why hasn't VJM helped them so far?
The article frequently quoted the desire to attract 'upper class tourists'. Where do Upper Class tourists stay - at upper class resorts! Where do Upper Class tourists book their tours - from Upper Class resort tour operators! Where do Upper Class tourists shop - at the Upper Class tour operators recommended Upper Class emporiums. They do not shop locally, they do not eat locally, they do not visit the beach, they do not hire local taxis :curse:
The 'riff raff' do but they are no longer wanted in Goa :curse::curse:
So that Bagaboy is why we doubt that any of Mickys statement will ever come to pass. And if that is an unreasonable opinion it is only ours.
If the wonderful VJM would like to communicate with those of us who stand to loose everything we have invested and give us a good reason why we should continue to invest we will be happy to listen.

AsTO POLICE --In London today their are 30000 policemen preventing citizens and tourists from going about their lawful business -- they are preventing lawful protesters from protesting , except in designated areas , I have witnessed force via the metal cane being used , to make people go where the police want them to go .
As to legally purchased properties --- Indian law is quite clear on this matter ,
although I sympathise with YOU - and am indeed on here to try and help you in your plight -- I think that certain acceptances of facts must be tolerated by both sides of the coin --- Indian Law is the Law as regards any property matters --- Indian Law however WAS interpreted in an Illegal manner by people who took an oath 2 uphold the Law of India ( which u have legally entitled rights of recourse)
It is my understanding that , a consensus of opinion now exists within the govt of Goa --- that maybe their is an avenue that could be explored , as regards retirees in Goa of all nationalities , extreme pressure has been applied on Dehli , by mainly , Russia -- who threatened to withdraw milatary supplies and the UK , who , stated that FDI and Visa quotas , was a 2 way street , but in the meantime the UK would, turn a nelsons and not subject Indian citizens to any punitary measures .
I would urge You not to give in, not when although you cannot see it , but a , little victory is in sight ---- VJM , owns Kingfisher --- and he has 25000 air seats at stake --- he is a reasonable man -- also powerful . Mickey also needs your support -- talk to him , help him , so that he can help you
