Great! Pietersen & Kieswetter aren't traditional English names but glory comes England's way so rarely in World competitions, we've got to grab it when we can! Collingwood got a lot of flack for his poor batting innings but as a captain he's done his job in my opinion - the only thing the Sky (bas**rds @ £49 per month for the sports!) coverage lacked was commentary/contribution from Shane Warne & his pi**ed off attitude when his beloved Australia got well & truly beat!

Can you imagine a Jocko cheering for the English? I did last night. Wouldn`t it been even better if they had been playing India? Reading page 15 in the Herald, the five columns reported only on the Aussie defeat, not the English win. They really do hate us Brits. A word of caution, don`t let it go to your heads like the 1966 world cup!!! Even today we still see it on sports programmes. And, of course, cricket is only played in a half dozen or so countries, so its hardly a world game. Nevertheless, well done England.

The more of us who email and write to William Hague, the more he might just sit up and take notice.
I am also sending him a mail.
Let's all send him written messages about the injustice in Goa - the more he gets the better, but let's all send them soon so his inbox gets flooded and he gets the message loud and clear.

Just whilst we are in the mailing mood IWC media ( location, location, location etc) did at one point consider looking at doing a programme on our issue but it went quiet due to the legalities of a certain Chris G
Could be a good time to hit their in box ? :fingerscrossed:

We are confused, Wally! Do they do different versions of the Herald? The front page has "England Lords of T20" with suitable picture and page 18 "England win World T20 crown" and uses delicious words such as 'thrash' 'smashed' and 'cruised....to win'. The TOI page 15 has "Lions rule in T20 World" "Maul Aussies in Grand Style for Thumping 7 Wickets Win". We doubt it will get replayed ad nauseum though; only shown on the Beeb news after Barcelona's win! Thank you for your support and congrats! Much appreciated.

Humble apologies, it was ToI,page 15. The headline is indeed pro England. Read further and little is said of the English innings. (Is that the proper term...innings?) Will have to reduce the intake of the golden liquid!!!

I think you will find that, as the game finished so late and England were batting last, a lot of the article was written before England had finished. This is a usual journalistic trait. Write most of the article and add the headline later

I think that a lot of that could be housing benefit but it is amazing how much people can claim for if they know all rules.
