Re: In To-day's Newspapers
Now we have lowered the tone to toilets - there was a photograph in one of the Goa newspapers last season just after the opening of the new public toilet as you get off the Betim Ferry and there was a bloke having a wee up the side of the new wall, 2 yards away from the door.

Re: In To-day's Newspapers
I remember watching a tv program back in the UK about an english couple from near Birmingham (near where I was raised as a kid) opening a guest house in candolim in Goa, is the guest house still operating. What is the name of it.

Yes it is, although they have had their licence taken away, they now only 'take in friends':rofl: Was her name Jo. Think the guest house is called Ponderosa.
Thank's for the info. I did find a web site josponderosa.com but it out of date. Yes her name is Jo and her partners name is Trevor. Are they just retired now. |

No, they are still there, as I said they can't take paying guests :rofl::rofl: just 'friends':sneaky:
Or you will find Trevor in the Teama Bar in the afternoons. Sounds like they have a lot of "friends" and Trevor has a good life. |
Re: In To-day's Newspapers
Their surname was Whiley and we still have a copy of the tv programme and the others they made about the couple who opened the Peackcock Pub in the same area as the Ponderosa.

I was thinking of a vacation in Goa as it is portrayed as "paradise"
but after reading this and other material I am not so sure. It is starting to remind me of Benidorm in the 70's with a load more crime and garbage lying around. Goa is a wonderful place and my most favourite place in the world. Yes it does have its warts but it also has a fantastic climate, great food, excellant bars and restaurants, fabulous beaches, friendly people and still relatively safe compared to many other tourist locations. Just don't buy property and be street wise......you'll love it! Regards, Remy PS. we all complain about Goa on here, myself included but still keep going back.;) |

Canada is also a great place to live. |
