Re: had enough!
Anyway miss Gary Lineker and the boys on a saturday night...
I think this line of his second post says it all. He really misses the British falling down drunken, vomiting, pissing in public street louts that seem to inhabit UK cities on a Saturday night, to say nothing of the like women falling down and flashing their knickers and boobs to all and sundry.
Yes, please go back and leave us to our boring ways.

No need to get offensive and rude towards the OH!
He said how he felt and what he experienced and that's called freedom of speech and doesn't need such an aggressive response.
Btw. If the OH really goes back to the UK then renewing the PR card won't prolong PR status. If not back in Canada after latest 3 years (2/5 year rule) then the PR status is gone no matter how long the PR card is valid for.
Good luck!

Re: had enough!
Nothing so complicated.
Firstrow will give you a daily list of football (and other stuff) that's available for a click or two - the first link often doesn't fill the screen but the others do and atdhe has either a MOTD link or just click on the BBC1 link.
Free, live coverage and very good quality.
I regularly watch MOTD on the Saturday and MOTD2 on the Sunday.

Why can't he say he misses a TV show, his country and culture? Canada has it's advantages, beauty and strengths but so does the UK (economy in the moment not being one of them unfortunately) . Another city might be better or another Province or just a village in the country side but that's up to him to decide.

You don't say how old you are? are your friends all from work?
I live in Calgary and have got in with a lovely bunch of ladies from Calgary that I met in the school playground. (I know I have been lucky tho!)
I also have British friends that I have met through this site and made friends with their friends (some have been here a lot longer than me).
For sure there are people I met here that I really don't click with and don't want to be friends with but making good friends that have your back takes time. Some smile so much they make me antsy and I don't really like superficial people. That's one thing that has taken a while to get used to - almost how over-friendly people are. That makes me uncomfortable at times.
You have given it a good shot tho - it's not as if you have been here 6 months. What do you really miss about England? (aside from soccer)
Have you thought about Calgary for instance? if you are into outdoor stuff there is a ton of stuff here to do. Mountains are 40 minutes away and stunning.
Good luck with whatever you decide

Re: had enough!
OK - my half-penny here. We left Tdot after a year. On reflection, we emigrated just after the death of my father - probably not the best time and sadly I think I lost friendship with a very dear couple at the time in Tdot.
I had to come back after a year, something fundamentally was telling me I had to, in the same way something now is telling me it is time to return.
The OP is saying what he feels and these thoughts and emotions should not be question.
Sometimes I feel that this board has a real my country is better than yours feeling to it. Both are great in their own ways. I would suggest the OP has made HIS decision on the knowledge he has now.
The suggestion of exploring other areas will only work if you really want to stay in Canada - your posts suggest otherwise.
