"This is a self-designed tattoo on our daughter's thigh. She is half Newfoundlander but has never been to Newfoundland, so until that time she carries Newfoundland with her."

Re: had enough!
I haven't been to Toronto so I can't speak about coldness from my experience.
I agree with some about personality and smiles. After about 2 years in NS, I have hardly made any friend but my OH made a dozen. We keep being invited to have dinners/parties (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year, Birthdays, etc.) By the way, they all are incredible cooks. Most dishes are much better than what we have in restaurants. And, of course, we invite them back. Also they often offer to help when we have problems, such as repairing sofa, electricity problems, well damaged by lightning, decking extension, vegetable planning/advice, etc.
I never had this kind of experience in London. Everybody over there seemed so busy and so limited knowledge within their own profession. Most people didn't have a big house for an entertainment, so people were often just socialized in pubs, half drunk and became different people who shouted (due to noise) nonsense most of the time. Hunting, fishing, hiking and sailing are our activities with friends instead of pubbing. Here everybody gets a big house with a big garden. BBQ is just so easy when the weather is good.
