I also wonder about Beth too and can fully appreciate her decision.

We attempted to talk again last night about pulling the plug and saying thats it, seems to be a weekly topic at the moment. I just don't know if there is any point in Jason going, to have to come back in 6 months, it doesn't make sense. And in that time we are both going to be miserable, neither of us is going to have a great deal of money to live (it will all be going on just maintaining 2 lifestyles one here and one in Oz) I will have all three kids to contend with, the dog and be driving round in a £500.00 banger. I know we have only been on the market since January, but some of you have been for sale for months, if we don't have any interest before he goes I can't see that we are going to have sold and completed before the 6 months we have given ourselves. I am being realistic, we can afford to reduce more but only so much, we are a family of 5 and need a 4 bed house, that won't come cheap, I don't want to be miserable over there and have no life because we have a huge mortgage to pay each month.

I think we need to honestly look and see if this really is a feasable move for us, probably just like Beth did.

Sorry to whinge again, but Jason just wont talk about this, we just end up arguing.

Have a truly wonderful time in Cornwall

Tracy

I know exactly where your coming from Tracy.

We are going out to validate for 4 weeks on the 31st March. I have days when I just don't now my arse from my elbow!!.. We had an offer of 30K less (50k under valuation) about 3/4 weeks ago. We declined buthe has left the offer on the table and won't look to increase. We put it back on the market in Jan dropping 25k from last year and putting it on at under the EA valuation to try and secure a sale before we needed to validate.... I just have days when I feel everything is against us... we've family problems too which is only compounding the deperation to just get the hell out of here.

Mitchell came home on monday to finding on the Canada expat site (we originally started our migration journey going to Canada back in may 2006 - long story....) I just don't know what to do. We realistically can't afford to take a 30k hit as we will end up with a huge mortgage or we will be living in a shack!! My head just feels like mush. We have had an asking price offer but they've only had 2 people round to theres and the last time thereswas on the market it didn't sell so Ireally can't put a lot of faith in the offer. EA just keeps telling meto remain positive and it'll pick up at Easter.... but they said this about January... The guy that put the offer in is a wxxxxr and I don't think Mitchell would sell to him know but I just want shut!!

'spose the Whinging Pom House seller' is about right at the mo! Sorry guys, I know I'm more of a watcher than a post but I just wanted to let Tracey know that we are all feeling it.... I just rambled too much - hence why I tend to watch not post!!

Know exactly how you feel its so frustrating isnt it. We have dropped 30k already we still have got quite a lot of equity in our house but i dont want to give it away Didnt want the extra expense of validating and then coming back. Our mortgage company has given us a 6 month mortgage holiday from April so this will give us a breather

Fly - my package has been released from customs in sydney hope today goes okay for you

Nicky - have a fab time in Cornwall, hope the weather picks up somewhat.:

No news here I have a feeling they are going to need a new amended mortgage deeds sent out
Hi Hayles,

I'm with you on what you said to Tracy - you will save money by flying out to Oz all together. Therefore you can afford to lose a few K off the price. Sending you hugs Tracy - it is really hard and we all understand.

My packages still says it's left Heathrow. Getting worried now. I just hope that the page hasn't been updated because of the time difference. If it can go wrong it will go wrong for us. I don't know why I expect it to go well...

Fingers crossed for your exchange. Can't believe they are STILL wittering on about the deed - what is the problem with it??? Sending you big hugs too.

Our house on for 299,999 have dropped 30k already, all EA's are saying there is no movement on any houses at this price just FTB's only. Well we will be able to wait 6 months and then have to think about renting it out:

Everywhere I read says that a crash might be on its way so rahter than keep dropping price maybe better to rent out for a few years and wait til its a sellers market again I dont know what do you lot think
It's so confusing isn't it? Is one of your EAs also a letting agent? Can you sign a letting agreement with them to be activated should the house not sell by a certain deadline, (I'd say September 2008). that way you get the benefit of the summer and then it should be tenanted when winter sets in. (You need to keep properties warm and aired to stop damp and tenants will do this for you.)

Sending you big hugs too - honestly, we're all in need of hugs today.

Cocker has already been rehomed and Springer is going this weekend (she is staying in the village) Will be a wrench to say goodbye to her, but I know she is going to a very good home. I also think the stress of such a big move would not be so good for her. The kids are going to miss them very much as they are such good pets and very loving and tolerant.

It is a very difficult decision to make, and ours was to leave them. However everyone is different and your decision needs to be the one that is best suited to your dog.
So sad - but sensible and kind. I'm sending you a big hug too.

Well my news; Old EA confirmed in writing this morning that the contract has been terminated. New EA been to take photos and measurements. seemed to go VERY well. The weather was stunning - sunny and warm. Where is this bad weather? We've had no worse than normal this last 3 days. I've seen pictures of storm wrecked places nearby... oh the lid blew off our bin.. went 2 feet...

FAB NEWS!!! I was going to send you Ks to get a viewer, it must have worked before I even sent it. I'll send you some for good luck for the viewing instead.

Fingers crossed you won't need the mortgage holiday for long. xxx

Shelley - I really feel for you - we all know what it's like and sympathise. if you feel like a moan then feel free to join in anytime. I'm sending you Ks for good luck too. At least you're going to get a lovely break and it will help you refocus your energy for selling the house. Since these things happen at the awkwardest moments - you are bound to get an offer while you are away, have to rush back and organise packers etc. Sods law...

Thanks FA - sounds daft but I'll be glad when we are back, at least we can start to make some decisions... starting to realise I'm a bit of a control freak.... I like thinks in order and to go to plan. It does help having you guys there as a sounding board, you feel less on you own.

thanks again,

Hello all,

We had two cats and we decided after we got he visa that we wouldn't take them with us. They were both old and I know they wouldn't be able to take the flight and then the quarantine.

My eldest cat died last year of a failed liver. I didn't realise how hard it was going to be to say goodbye to them, but that really hit home. I still am going to rehome the other cat as I think it's fairer on her anyway. It will be hard, though.

FA, did your daughter forgive you. Good luck with the new EA and lot's more viewings.

My EA rang this morning and I've got two viewings. HOORAY

One on Friday at 6pm and one on Monday 10am. Fingers crossed.

I'll keep you all posted.

Hi Gonnago, thanks for this it really is appreciated, there are times when you just don't know where to turn and you all are where I come for a moan We have asked for offers and said anything considered, we are going to leave the advert at that for Easter then drop again:

You must be pleased about the meds arriving in Sydney:

Hi Shelley

Glad I am not the only one, it does make it easier knowing you are not the only one struggling with this. I am sure that Easter will pick up, it may be that buyers were waiting for the budget to see if that was going to change anything.

Fingers crossed for you:

FAB news on the viewing, will keep everything crossed for you, we have a few viewings on this thread over the next week or so, lets hope this is the start of things to come and we will all have some luck.

In all honesty we are now looking to see if we can all go and just leave the house for sale, not ideal, but beng apart indefinitly isn't ideal, we won't have a lot of money as we will need to send back to pay mortgage, but we wouldn't have had a lot of money anyhow as Jason was going to need to send me some money back, so we may as well all struggle together in Oz.

FA, did your daughter forgive you. Good luck with the new EA and lot's more viewings.

My EA rang this morning and I've got two viewings. HOORAY

One on Friday at 6pm and one on Monday 10am. Fingers crossed.

I'll keep you all posted.

Hi Tracey,

Don't be too down on everything at the moment, I know it's hard for you. This is a great place to come and have a moan and you shouldn't feel bad about it.

Something happened at school pick up yesterday that seems to have put things into perspective for me. It doesn't matter what you think is going to happen it's the least expected things that will happen.

A friend of mine got out of her car and walked from her car, across a small area of mud to get to the pavement. She slipped on the mud and broke her leg. She's broken her tibia and dislocated her fibula just above the ankle.

So, I've decided I'm not going to worry about the lack of viewers etc, and I'll get to Oz when I get there.
