So why is there any corporate tax at all if they are paying with no vote? Why not just cut it all out so that they can pay bigger bonuses to their CEO's? Or do you believe that they would invest this money they save in being tax free on better working conditions, better quality products, more job creation?

Shit, I forgot that this is BE, where splitting hairs, nit-picking and pedanticism is the order of the day You are absolutely right though and my profound apologies for getting it so fundamentally wrong On that sharing of the burden, there's a good chance that those claiming NG are part of the net zero tax group |

I thought that the idea behind it was to deter people who use the doctor's surgery as a drop in centre, which is why government prefer the fee rather than increasing the Medicare levy across the board.
I suspect that Doctors are against it because most of the bulk billing places have specifically moved to being cashless, which in turn saves them money. All of the associated costs involved in taking and keeping money are dealt with by the system. S But its a shortsighted approach from the docs. If the investment goes where it should then the doctors become better, have better solutions, more interesting careers, and a better success rate down the track. |

Yes. But based on what you said earlier, why should they pay tax at all?
Did I ever say they should remove corporate tax. No. |

50% of Australian families? I find that incredibly hard to believe. But even so, is the solution to fund medical research, make no efforts to create more jobs, cut on education, spend 12 billion on broken fighter jets?
The priorities of this government are as clear as day. They want the poor to get poorer and the rich to get richer. Lack of job creation is a concern but I have no problem with increased university fees - and there will be a scholarship scheme to help the most disadvantaged As for the jets, let's go the same way as the UK and get rid of our capabilty to defend ourselves Most Australians have been getting richer with increasing living standards for decades - you just have to look at per capita GDP. HDI, Gini coefficient etc, and long may it continue |

Sure. NG is done by people from all income groups but there is no doubt that people on higher incomes benefit the most

NG is tapping into the tax pool and only benefits those who have investment properties. It should go ASAP.
