I personally think tht state-sponsored MODL should get higher priority than family sponsored CSL. The fact that a state thinks this person is well worth is enough to even out the difference between CSL and MODL (and those differences are largely theoratical).

Apart from this, I think it is a fair call...

Does it apply also for state sponsored application without CSL occupation?

Under Q12 they say non CSL applications cannot receive priority processing, although under Q2 such applications come into the groups of 5, 6 and 7.
Szervusz Hori,

Nem tudom :-(

My guess is that Q12 is not directed towards state sponsored applicants, but this is an issue which I'm sure will be clarified with the various states over the coming weeks. The states have many local skill shortages and will not be thrilled with having to wait while national shortages are addressed.

Default New Immi changes 23onwards

This is new decision by Australian immigration dept.
So people may wait another two year for getting visa.

I am very frustrated abt the changes...

Hey what about Accountants without 7 in IELTS in all 4 competencies but with state sponsorship? Their occupation is in the CSL. Will they come under category 2 & receive priority processing?

If I am right, accountants without IELTS 7 do not come under csl right? So I am afraid they wont come category 2. In fact they wont come anywhere in 1st 5 category.

But what happens then would be State sponsorship for Accountants is invalidated for those who do not have IELTS 7 in all 4 competencies. Then states should stop issuing sponsorship for Accountants for those who do not have IELTS 7 in all 4 competencies & also cancel sponsorships for those who are not granted their VISAS yet as they have limited validity. Any MRA's pls advise...

Guess you must have got ur answer already. But I will still paste the relevant portion here, for whoever else needs it..

Q9 What will happen to those applications which are in the final stages of processing and where the Department has requested applicants to provide health and character clearances?
The new arrangements apply to all visa applications, including those in the final stages of processing. Applications in lower priority groups cannot be processed further until those in higher priority groups are finalised in accordance with the priority processing Direction.

Really feel sorry for those who are affected by this one

OMG. Thereafter all states have to cancel their lists & retain only CSL occupations & state sponsorship becomes only a prioritization mechanism within CSL. ( Sponsorships only have limited validity)....

(if any in case)...but i just try to keep calm my self thinking there is always tomorrow and i will get my visa tomorrow...I just wish you all best of luck and keep the hopes up guys (do we really have any other option ? !!)

Cause they mentioned that applicants witout csl have to wait after 2011/2012? Is this apply for applicants with state sponsorship that are not on csl ?

Please make it clear for me . thanks
Q17 I already have a State and Territory nomination, how am I affected?
All GSM applications, other than a Subclass 476, 883 and 887 are subject to the priority processing arrangements under the Minister’s Direction. Applicants who are nominated by a State or Territory and have nominated an occupation on the CSL receive the second highest priority. Applicants who are nominated by a State/Territory and have not nominated an occupation on the CSL will receive lower priority.

I think this affects those who were Non-CSL sponsored applicants.

For CSL sponsored and non-sponsored, it's quite the same processing hierarchy. Please correct me if i am wrong.

hmm...i am a CSL non-sponsored computer professional..and hence at priority level 4. I am thinking to get State sponsorship to move to priority level 2. Any idea, how much time i will save by converting 175 to 176. I applied for 175 yesterday
